<p>Has anyone ever been apart of Close Up? Next year, juniors in honors poly sci have the opportunity to go to Washington DC and I was wondering on whether or not it was worth cranking out like a $1000. I’ve heard some good reviews and some bad, so I was just wondering about what your opinion was :)</p>
<p>If you can afford it, yes. But if it is of any kind of financial burden, than no.</p>
<p>Our school does it, only 30 people went because, well it’s Detroit and the economy sucks. They’re not even doing it at our school next year because of the rising prices. </p>
<p>I don’t know one person who regretted going.</p>
<p>I went over 20 yrs ago and it was one of the highlights of my time in HS. And I wasn’t even interested in govt/politics! I thought it was a fabulous program, and I plan on doing it with my kids when they are old enough. We homeschool, so I get to go as the teacher/chaperone and take part in whatever program they have for educators. And yes, I will be planning ahead to make sure it fits our budget for that year.</p>

<p>My school ran this program; didn’t go b/c of the $1000 price tag. But the kids who did go loved it…</p>
