For the past week or two, the X on the top right corner of the blue notification banner has not been closing the box. Is it just me or is it that way for everyone?

I just tried it on this post. It didn’t work. LOL! I usually don’t bother trying to close it, though.

I don’t bother to close it if it is a single sentence, but when I have to scroll past a paragraph with a lot of ALL CAPS, I find it annoying.

Thanks for flagging! I am able to replicate this. I’ll have to open a ticket with our support team on Monday. Will update once I hear back.

Well, actually it looks like the closing option does work. Although it did not happen immediately when I clicked on it, the blue announcement is gone now.
I click on the X (it turns grey for a moment) and all around the X and the blue box doesn’t go away. 
@CC_Sorin If I log onto the beta site, I can close the blue notification. If I log onto the regular site, I can’t.

This has been happening to me for weeks. Even after the recent refresh, I still can’t close the blue banner. Very annoying.
Short term fix to close blue banner
First click the X to close (it won’t) THEN refresh/reload your page and it will go away. It takes two steps instead of one, but it works. 
Note that the banner will return when the admins change the message but until then you will be blue banner free.
Many thanks to @CC_Sorin for discovering this workaround until the developers correct the issue.
