Anyone applying dietrich/tepper not getting the email?
May be you are lucky, I did not get the email so far.
Got the email for tepper school first choice. Anyone else Tepper who got it?
It seems only SCS ain’t getting it, perhaps the person was true, maybe no one is getting off the SCS waitlist 
I applied for Information Systems and I still did not get that email. So not only SCS.
but yes the person from undergrad admissions I spoke to said, there is no movement in CS. She is not sure of IS though. But she was even unaware of this waistlist email sent. God alone knows.
Truly is a ■■■■ situation, I got deferred in December and then waitlisted and now they won’t even offer admission to CS kids get they waitlisted hundreds if not over a thousands CS kids alone.

Yeah unfortunately the vast majority of the time, waitlist is just a soft rejection. You’re academically qualified to be there but they just didn’t have room to offer you a place.

It’s puzzling why CMU waitlists so many CS kids, especially with such a small SCS class size they’d never severely overshoot or undershoot the number of kids enrolling.
This is common practice at a large number of schools. A very large waitlist allows them more optionality in constructing the class they want. Remember that they’re using the WL to fill specific gaps. For example, they might need someone from Nebraska because the one Nebraska kid they had offered didn’t enroll. Or they need a female oboe player. Etc.
A large list helps them fill these niche needs.
Some schools also use WL as soft rejections, especially for kids with legacy connections that they couldn’t admit.

have they taken a good amount of people off wl yet?
All we know is anecdotes and it doesn’t appear so. They traditionally take very few so that would be in keeping with past trends.
