We get the USPS informed delivery digest and it appears nothing in today’s mail either…
They would send out a letter if he was rejected, right?
If nothing comes by tomorrow I might have him see if he can check his application status online. I wonder if maybe something was incomplete, like they never received transcripts or something?
And the waiting game starts all over for today!!! Waiting in great anticipation for the mail to come. Hoping that the piece of mail without a picture on informed delivery is her thick envelope, only to run to the mailbox and find out it’s a Silversea Cruise catalogue!! I wonder what disappointing piece of mail will be there today!!?
Bonus for the day…it’s a snowday here in Maine❄️<️
My daughter’s acceptance did not show up in the USPS informed delivery email. Hopefully yours will be coming today. If not have him check that accepted student’s webpage. It seems to be accurate based on the students I know that got accepted. A letter would be sent if he was deferred or denied.
@melmrs She did check the accepted students page when it didn’t come in yesterdays mail, and it shows that she got in. Yay! But, it seemed so weird and too easy. Especially since there’s no email or update in her portal. She’ll definitely feel better with the packet. Also, she interviewed for Honors & PLP so we’re hoping for notification about that as well.
Congrats to your daughter!!
@mamawitch It just feels better once you get that packet in the mail. ? I hope it comes today!
My son got his yesterday and it looked like it was sent out on the 13th.
Same envelope, separate letter. It was some sort of tech investment program for comp sci or comp engineering.
Can I, was the application to UMW, EA or did they apply ED?
Thx
We were told UMW doesn’t release EA until end of January.
She’s definitely in…the packet arrived today.
No mention of PLP, honors or any merit scholarships.
FYI -
I just went onto the website and it said Honors and PLP will be notified Feb 1st.
@mamawitch Yay! Congratulations to your daughter! Thanks for the info about Honors and PLP.
Anybody going to spend the night on February 7 for Honors/PLP day?
D just got a call telling her about Honors/PLP days? Does anyone know what this is all about? Is it worth getting a plane ticket and going? Does it help their chances or is it just informative? Also, does this mean she’s been accepted or do all that applied get invited? Sorry for all the questions.
I think it is just informative. My daughter knows a girl who got deferred and she got an invitation to spend the night and attend the Honors/PLP day so I guess they invite anybody who applied for the programs.
@mamawitch My daughter is going to Honors/PLP day on January 25. I think it’s just informational, and I am told that it has no bearing on whether they get in. If they are invited it doesn’t mean they are accepted, just that they meet the minimum requirements such as GPA and SAT score. If your daughter wants to see what the programs are all about, you might want to go. My question is how strict the requirements are. My daughter applied to the Honors Program. She is above the minimum GPA, but her SAT was 1300, and the Honors Program minimum is 1310. Will she get denied over those 10 points? We will see!
Could she try taking the SAT again?
Well, she wouldn’t have time to be considered for this round since the decisions come on Feb. 1. But if she doesn’t get in she could reapply at a later time after retaking the SAT.
Thanks @vafamily We may pass if it’s just informative. She did register for the April 3/4 admitted students day events though.
I didn’t see that event listed on the admitted students page. She registered for Setting Sail. Where do you register for Admitted Students Day?
Also wondering which admitted student day to attend. Does anyone know if we visit for January 25th PLP day, would that visit be similar to future admitted student events in April? Should we do both from OOS?
