My daughter really loves the idea of studying in Montreal, but I imagine it would be hard to do a co-op programs with work terms if she doesn’t know much French, or to get a job after graduation as you’re allowed to do for up to 3 years. She would have to look for work in another province, which seems like it would be harder to do. Do you think I am right about this?
It would depend, a bit, on what type of major or job she’s interested in. For most professional jobs in Quebec, you’re going to need to be bilingual. Lots of English speaking students attend McGill and return to other provinces after graduation. The rules are likely different in other provinces, if you’re an international student. Something to investigate.
