@saytruewords: I hope that is how we all are. I mean, we do indeed need people who are able to do one thing and flourish in that given area, but those who change the world around themselves are multitalented.
We see charismatic people all the time, but the stories you remember are about those who have compassion, not intelligence. While I may be disappointed if I don’t make it to the finalist level, I can still be satisfied with who I am. The most important thing we can take out of this process is that we need to remember that we are indeed special individuals who can make a change. Even those who didn’t reach semi-finalist status doesn’t mean that cannot make a difference.
For example, I turn 18 on Monday, but I managed to get around 15 people to vote yesterday. My words are more powerful than my individual vote if used correctly. Just think of what we would be able to do if all 2,100 of us got together and worked for a common goal. What about the 73,000 that applied?</p>
<p>It just takes motivation and confidence to make a difference. You can make power out of what you already have.</p>
