Colby RD 2024

Colby doesn’t give merit aid, no schools at its caliber do

What does the presidential scholars thing look like on the portal?

My daughter got accepted! Yay!!!

child accepted, received the scholar’s email, but no letter on portal… not sure if that comes out today or later

Accepted!
1510 SAT
790 Math II
4.24 GPA

My daughter was accepted! She received the presidential scholar email but there is no mention of it in the acceptance letter or elsewhere in her portal. We are disappointed in the financial aid package. We used the NPC and received a much different estimate.

Accepted! I got the Presidential Scholars email a couple weeks ago.

Stats:
1540 SAT (superscored)
4.18 GPA
student body president, tons of other ECs, National Merit Finalist, great recs
talked with an admissions rep that came to my school but that’s about it for demonstrated interest

Waitlisted, but received the presidential scholar email. I’d heard it was to be treated like a likely letter so I’m a bit shocked at the result. I wasn’t super sold on Colby, but am confused nonetheless.

Just one drawback - International student requesting for high financial aid.

Guess somethings aren’t meant to be. Anyways congrats to everyone who are accepted. All the best for your future

Daughter accepted…excellent financial aid. I thought she would be deciding between Bowdoin and Amherst but Colby’s bottom line definitely puts them in the mix.

@CoolAsAMoose I received the Presidential Scholars email and was waitlisted too. I was also under the impression that it was like a likely letter and I responded to the form in the email quickly so I’m a bit confused

accepted! 34 ACT, 97 UW GPA, 10 APs, social activism/sports ECs and an instrument, never visited or showed interest

@curiousboy178 The need just might have been a factor. Your stats are near perfect. My son’s aren’t that good but I do suspect his high need did not help him. He was also rejected. I’m sure you will end up somewhere GREAT!

Accepted!

Accepted.
1540 SAT, 10 APs, 99.9 GPA, 770 Math 2, 770 Bio
Not enough aid, though. I can’t afford it.
