I’ll find some links but have to believe many/most have seen the video and then post event letter from the CEO dude.
What are your thoughts?
My thoughts are he did himself in when he completed ducked out of the video leaving the woman exposed to the camera and then further doomed himself with his letter/statement which just reeked of “me,me,me” and how this public concert incident ruined HIS “fun time”.
The VP of Human Resources was their third wheel. She’s the one with the red face left smiling at the camera for 30 seconds
Edit: misidentified she’s just an embarrassed friend!
Apparently his wife has already removed his name from all her social media accounts. He’s deleted his LinkedIn account. Former and current employees say he’s toxic.
Both Byron and Cabot have been put on leave according to this . Can’t imagine either will be able to keep their job.
Obviously going out in public is always risky if you don’t want your relationship to be known. DH and I remarked today that we haven’t gone to United Center (Chicagoland arena) for a sports event or concert and not seen someone we know.
In the article I linked above, it reports that Astronomer’s statement says the dark haired woman is not an employee of the company.
I think I read that the CEO statement was not real.
Many years ago my DH worked in live TV. Before any live audience event, the producers always joked that “you may be on screen so if you’re here with someone you shouldn’t be, this is fair warning.”
Well. I have to say that the memes and commentary on social media today are hysterical. My favorite comment was " that poor wife. Can you imagine finding out your husband is a Coldplay fan in such a manner?" The hubris and stupidity of the CEO is unbelievable. There is no privacy in public places and if anyone should know there are cameras everywhere it would be a tech CEO. I do feel really bad for the wife and children. They are not public figures and this must be unimaginably painful for them.
For whatever reason, Facebook decided I needed to read many suggested posts about the situation. I never click on those, so I did a google search for the story. A CEO & his HR director were apparently caught on a kiss cam at the Coldplay concert. Instead of just blowing it off, the CEO apparently acted in a manner that led people to believe he was hiding something … so of course, the video was posted and went viral, because that’s the world we live in. I’m not a fan of spreading videos of people without their consent, but I also realize that it’s not illegal. Moral of the story … if what you are doing isn’t moral, don’t expect it to remain private if it’s done in public.
And as seems to be the modus operandi these days, he’s blaming the Coldplay crew, and I believe also his marketing person who bought the tickets has been fired. What a jerk.
