College chances- SAT 1800

Hi, I’m currently studying in a 12th grade CBSE Indian school. Passed my 10th grade CBSE examination from Muscat, Oman with a CGPA of 9.0/10. Have lived in 4 countries. Senior School Soccer team captain. School Cricket team player, won many awards. Held a Council post in Grade 11. Participated in Quizes, Helped in Organising major school events and a few more EC’s here and there. SAT score of 1800 in my first attempt (CR- 540, Math- 660, Reading- 600 and Essay- 9/12) Planning to retake it in December. My 11th grade marks were horrible due to certain circumstances, managed to score a meagre 60%. Hoping atleast a 90%+ in my 12th board finals. Will my 11th grade scores dent my application severly? Planning to apply to Purdue,UIUC,Texas A&M,UT at Austin,UCLA and UCSD. Please rate my chances. Thank you :)

add some tier 2 colleges if you a decision. The colleges you listed are risky with your scores and GPA.

Do you need aid?

if u dont ask for aid then u might make purdue or texas a and m
whats ur major
if its not engineering then UIUC maybe ok
explain in ur essay ur grade drop

Even if he doesn’t ask for aid, it’s unlikely he’ll get into Purdue or UT Austin. They don’t give out aid anyway, so each student applying is assumed a full freight student.
I’d suggest that OP apply to LACs, and to lots of it (especially those in the USNWR rankings of 60-100). But most of all, I’d suggest a retake. A score of 1800 means that there is a lot of room for improvement. If OP studies hard, he can easily break 2050.

The UC’s are high reaches with that SAT score.

Add Penn State to your list.

Try Michigan State University. Purdue might be a reach. UT Austin is a long shot. UCs are an even longer shot.
