Happy New Year! Hopefully all of our hopes and dreams for 2015 will come true.
Thank god for FERPA. Also, happy New Year’s! Anyone else pull an all-nighter?
@quidditchcat - I stayed up until 3. I was so tired from working earlier in the day.
Does anyone else act like a sloth on New Year’s Day? I am always so tired on this day.
I went to bed like 15 minutes after the ball drop in NYC.
If anyone’s interested; Kanye dropped a song today and it is … incredible. Lyrically beautiful.
I’m always remarkably sloth-like on New Year’s Day as well and spend most of it sleeping, haha.
School starts up again for me in three days! Crazy how quickly the time goes—I think I’d rather have one less week of summer break to cash in on right now.
@Coriander23, yah, I like the fact that I don’t start the spring semester until January 12th. Some of my friends start on January 20th, and I feel like that’s just too long. I think that starting on the 12th gives me a lot of time to catch up on rest and relaxation. It also gives me time to work some extra hours at my job.
I’m looking forward to my first “college” summer. I’m done with classes on April 30th. My high school always ran from the end of August - beginning of June, so finishing the academic year at the end of April/beginning of May is going to feel weird, but I’m going to like that!
I go back on January 27th - and I have no clue what I’m going to between now and then. I’m trying to “recharge” from last semester by going to bed early and waking up relatively late (like 10am-ish).
I start on the — hmm, whatever day is after MLK day. I feel that it’s too long… honestly back in high school i would be going back on Monday. But yeah, I’m also trying to reset myself (which is not really happening, lol) from sometimes sleeping a grand total of 7 hours in a week.
My sleeping patterns haven’t been too erratic. I only went to bed at an abnormal hour a few days during break. I have been sleeping a lot during the day, however. I watch TV and just fall asleep. I remind myself of an old man, sometimes. Haha.
I was able to schedule my two online classes today. I am nervous for them. It’s not like they are hard classes, but I hope I don’t slack off with them. Oh well, it’s worth a shot!
Just bit the bullet and bought a happy light—it was a bit on the expensive side, but I feel like it’ll get a lot of use here in Seattle and later in Ithaca. Can’t wait to try it out!
Today was my first day of classes for winter quarter. I’m pleased to say that I like all my classes so far and am looking forwards to improving my shoddy attendance record in lecture.
I normally don’t double post, but I just wanted to say that the world’s worst tuba player is currently practicing in the courtyard behind my residence hall right now. My ears.
I checked my school’s online schedule of courses, and today, they opened up sections for the online psychology class. I’m so happy that I was able to register for it because I need it for my major. I’d rather get it out of the way now. I shouldn’t be changing my schedule around anymore. I have 18 credits scheduled, but I’m probably going to drop a class.
I’m in a dilemma.
Here’s my schedule for spring:
T/R
12:30-1:45 / Educational Psychology
2:00-3:15 / Intro Speech
T ONLY
6:00-8:30 / Evolution of Jazz
Online:
Biological Science
Intro to Psych
There’s an online theater class that I really want to take with a certain professor, and I don’t think he’s teaching it in the fall, so I want to take it in the spring. If I add that course to my schedule, I’ll have 18 credits. I’m wondering if that is too many. I mean, it’s just a theater class, so I don’t think it will be too cumbersome. I could always just take 15 credits by dropping the Tuesday night class and just taking the online theater class, which would give me two classes on campus and three classes online.
I’m just trying to figure out if I should take the 18 credits or not.
Just spent some time looking at threads in the College Admission section…were we as pretentious last year as this cycle’s applicants?
Sending in my resume and cover letter for an internship app tonight!
My city just closed schools for tomorrow because of the cold. #Weenies
@Vctory - I think I might’ve posted like 12 threads in the Boston University section asking to be chanced - it got to the point that the regulars on the thread were telling me to just calm down and that my chances today couldn’t have possibly changed from my last thread three days earlier. LOL.
@Vctory no, everyone was afraid that even their CCs wouldn’t accept them. HS-CO of 2014 > any other class
@preamble1776, every school in my city has delayed or cancelled classes for tomorrow. I’m glad that I can just stay in bed.
The last two days schools here have been cancelled for the snow.Schools are now cancelled for cold, too. To be fair, it’s going to be -15 F tonight.
Even work called me off the past two days because they weren’t busy due to the snow. So much for working during winter break. Oh well. I decided to give blood since all I feel like doing right now is sleeping anyway!
I’ve decided to apply for a summer job that’s semi academically related, although it’s not exactly a CS internship. I need to keep my options open, because if I’m taking summer classes, I’m going to be financially responsible for it even though technically I’m a financial dependent (weird situation). And staying at home would be laaammme.
At this time last year, I was like “OMG, not getting in anywhere. halp.” It’s kind of funny looking back at my chances thread.
I’m still on winter break – I don’t have class until the 20th. Not that class would get cancelled or anything.
