College Class 2018

During the free time at my internship (Biz Dev & outreach, so a lot of waiting for people to get back to me), I’ve been working on my German. It’s felt extremely productive so far! Usually there’s about 4 and a half hours of me actually working, and 3 and a half hours of me studying

I basically got to play an 8 hour game of hide and seek at my internship on Friday! Carrying around an 8 foot pole with the GPS on it made it a little less glamorous, though.

Finally made my schedule ( finally had orientation lol) got exactly what I wanted. I lucked out because I’ve already been harassing my advisor she knew my name and was able to put me in a class the minute a seat opened up. As a commuter I was trying to severely limit the days I had class. So my schedule is:

M:

Class 5:00-7:50

TF:
Class:
9:30-10:45
11:00-12:15
12:30-1:45
3:30-4:45

But there all in the same building except for one; so I’ll be home by 6 Tuesdays and Fridays which leaves a lot of room for my to do my fieldwork and work

Well, I decided it’s time to work off this “freshman 15.” I walked four miles with my dog last night and this morning. I really want to lose some weight before I go back to school at the end of August; it makes me feel better, LOL.

@NewBeginnings3 - Woo hoo! I’ve been dieting and exercising since the end of May to work off the weight I gained Freshman year. I’ve lost 22 pounds so far. I am now officially thinner than I was when I started college. I’m still trying to lose a little more weight - I have some really expensive jeans I bought my Sophomore year of high school that I’m trying to fit back into.

@preamble1776 - niiicceee. I had to buy some bigger pants a couple months ago - LOL. I figured that I don’t want to keep gaining because then I won’t fit in my bigger pants, so I decided that it’s time to lose weight. I hate when my clothes feel tight, so I’m trying to avoid that.

@NewBeginnings3 - Yeah I know that feel. I got really depressed when I had to go up a size in American Eagle. But now those same jeans I bought a couple months ago are so baggy that I can literally tuck both of my arms elbow deep into the waist (weird image, I know.) I found it oddly motivating.

@preamble1776 - I love that feeling! Some people say they hate losing weight because all their clothes are too big. I’d rather have clothes that are too big instead of clothes that are too small.

@NewBeginnings3 Yep! I’d rather have to go clothes shopping to replace clothes that are too baggy than clothes that are too small. I do “back to school shopping” at the end of August and I’d much rather buy smaller sizes than bigger sizes, lol.

Lol I went up like 3 pant sizes this school year. Dang dessert bar…

I had a mock trial tournament at Richmond on the first week of my diet. You people almost broke me.

The only dessert my school’s caf serves is vanilla pudding which is admittedly not-terribly-exciting as far as desserts go.

It’s been a month since I’ve cut out all liquids except water from my diet. (I have almond milk with my cereal but I don’t count that.)

I’m not sure if I’ve gained weight or not. My clothes fit me in the same way.

Lol I realized I needed bigger pants when I felt like a stuffed kielbasa.

@guineagirl96 - LOL, that made me laugh too hard!

This isn’t about food or pants sizes, but @guineagirl96 I visited your campus yesterday and it was beautiful! If I knew about it beforehand, I probably would have applied

So did you guys hear that Goldman-Sachs is requiring their interns to be out of the office from midnight to 7am? And here I was thinking that an intern working 9-10 hours a day was a bit on the high side.

Goldman Sachs interns will be well compensated for their time in the long run.

I can’t believe tomorrow is July 1st! Before you know it, we’ll be talking about our first week of fall semester. Are you guys looking forward to it?

Yes, I am actually really excited for the fall semester. All of my classes seem super interesting and I love how all of my classes are so early (I sound like such a freak.) The fall is also my favorite season - especially the period between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
