College Class 2018

I can’t wait for school to start! <:-P It’s like Christmas.

I think I prefer the fall semester over the spring semester because the fall semester starts at the end of summer, so it’s still light for most of the day and warm. It progressively gets colder and darker, but then you have all of the holidays to anticipate, as @preamble1776 said.

Spring semester seems to drag at times, especially when it’s consistently cold and snowy. It seems like summer will never arrive.

I love the fall, though. I love the colder temperatures and the changing of the leaves. I especially love October for all of the scary movies and Halloween.

I just keep thinking of how fast time flew between the Fourth of July and the end of August last year. It’s crazy.

I’m pretty excited for my fall classes - surveying will be a breeze because that’s what I do at my internship this summer. Statics and Dynamics will make me feel like a real engineer, lmao. I’m excited for all my activities to start again, and to move into my apartment with my best friend.

I don’t like being cold, so winter is definitely not something I’m looking forward too! But the cold isn’t as bad first semester, and I am quite fond of scarves so I’ll be excited when I can bust out my scarf collection again, lol.

I can’t wait for the semester to start and summer to end! I like living at college and I like taking classes.

@NewBeginnings3 I feel that. I was actually given advice by someone to take my harder classes in the fall if possible because motivation and grades tend to have a negative trend in the spring semester. =/

Anyone worried about the so-callled “Sophomore Slump?”

I actually * don’t * want summer to end. Because that means going back to taking four WHOLE different subjects that are kind of pretty different from each other. Right now, I’m basically doing CS 24/7.

lol, edited because I forgot html editing in forums like these use [ rather than <

@preamble1776 - I’m not really sure if I’m worried about it. I am transferring after this coming academic year, so I have that to look forward to. I’m not worried about getting bored with college, yet. There’s still a lot around the corner!

I’m happy I decided to stay at a local college for my first two years. I like the one-on-one with my professors. I’m looking forward to the “traditional” college experience, though. It should be fun.

I took all dual-enrollment classes when I was a senior in high school, so I’ve essentially been in college for two years. I’m hoping that the “sophomore slump” period has already passed. [-O<

My Sophomore year (or whatever year I’m in, I don’t even know, my University is being ambiguous about my title - I have 65 credits) classes for the fall seem a hell of a lot more interesting than the ones I took Freshman year. (And my Freshman year courses were pretty interesting despite being on mundane topics.)

In other news, my friend who commutes as well showed me her course schedule for the fall and she has early morning and late night classes scheduled 5 days a week with classes sprinkled in between. She’s literally gonna be on campus, taking classes from 8am to 8pm every night with intermittent breaks. Just looking at her schedule makes me anxious. I hate gaps.

I’m not worried about the sophomore slump because I’m starting classes in my major and I’m stoked for them. I’m in a similar boat to @preamble1776 with 61 credits, but I’m officially being labeled a junior now and have finished all my junior-level requirements (writing portfolio, getting accepted into my major) and core classes. I’m not even graduating in 2018 anymore!

I’m already experiencing sophomore slump in my summer classes, lmao. But they are classes I was dreading, so hopefully fall will be better - I’ll be getting into my major classes and have most of the things I was dreading overwith.

I’m an incoming freshman and I just found out 3 minutes ago that my college assigned me to a double dorm when all 5 of my requested dorms were singles.

I feel like crying. :-S

The best part is that the last day to try and reassign dorms was yesterday and I initially applied on May 30th. Coincidence?..

@stugace You’ll be fine; I wanted a single last year and went through a double. Living in a single this year and pumped for it

@Vctory, how was your roommate? Honestly my only fear is that they don’t go through my stuff stealing information or other things from me.

^They were absolutely fine; went a lot better than expected

Happy 4th everyone!

@stugace: do you have any specific reason for wanting a single? Like if you absolutely need one not for personal preference but health you’d be able to find a way.

In terms of roommates, I had a terrible one. I ended up having to transfer. I was tired of my roommate bringing her boyfriend over, and forgetting to sexile me. Well, that’s not the only thing, but honestly I have so many horror stories. First world problems to the extreme.

Thank you, @quidditchcat, for sharing your awful experience in order to comfort and prepare me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Seriously though, I want a single because I know I’m the only one who has access to my dorm. It’s mainly an issue of thievery because I don’t want my government documents stolen or my expensive gadgets like my laptop taken. I also don’t want anyone else other than my roommate coming into my room.
