College Class 2018

I meant to say “i’m also really happy at my current school” but i guess i submitted a draft. Goddamnit now I look stupid lol.

I just can’t get over the fact that Saturday is August 1st. Where has the time gone?

I just got back from a week’s vacation at the beach, and the only thing to look forward to now is school, which is exciting and depressing at the same time.

One of my classes is a comparative literature class, so that means I will actually HAVE to read the books. That should be interesting, LOL. I heard the professor is pretty cool, though, so I’m looking forward to it.

I have a question:

I’m currently an intern at a political organization; so on my resume I put “intern” at “organization name.” However, this organization sort of donates interns to do field work for local and state campaigns. I was just assigned to a campaign that I’m gonna start working for in addition to my current internship – does that warrant a new “internship” on my resume? Like I did two separate things over the summer?

Basically, as an example:

You are an intern with the Nevada GOP. You do work related to whatever it is the GOP in that state needs to do. Then, the GOP decides to assign you to Republican Governor Johnny Smith’s reelection campaign, and you report to his campaign’s HQ and do work there (phone banking, canvassing, creating literature/posters/etc). Would you list the two as separate on your resume?

Intern w/ Nevada GOP

  • Responsibilities include blah blah blah

Intern w/ Gov. Johnny’s re-election campaign

  • Responsibilities include blah blah blah

??

Edit: I’m doing both simultaneously. I report to each one on different days of the week.

Does anyone have a good website to review for pre-calculus? going to take it this semester. I need three more math classes, before I can transfer

@preamble1776 Different project under the line:

(Campaign/Political/whatever your title is that works for what you’re applying for) Intern w/ Nevada GOP
-Responsibility
-Responsibility
-Worked (blah blah blah) on the Johnson campaign
-Another accomplishment

lol, I’ve been taking summer classes, so I’m like “oh cool more school”. I start the school year in 3.5 weeks, I think.

I got an email from my adviser saying that I might be able to transfer a semester early. The way the system works is that I can transfer after two years at my current campus, but I may be able to transfer early so that I graduate on time. I have to meet with her during the second week of the semester, and I am 50/50 about the whole thing. I do want to transfer and experience the “campus life”, but that “campus life” comes with a hefty price. I tried drafting a schedule for the spring semester at my current campus, and I couldn’t draft a schedule of 15 credits with classes that would work toward my major, so odds are that I will have to transfer early.

I’m eager to get back. Lots of exciting stuff to do this year  Although I’m dreading the all-STEM 18 units I’ll be taking this fall…

So textbooks for my university came out August 1st… As of today, not a single one of my courses is listed on the bookstore website. I find it hard to believe that I have no textbooks; gonna wait it out a little longer. If that’s the case then I’ll be happy

I also realized that classes start in two weeks. I can’t believe the summer’s almost over.

I’ll probably be paying close to $800 for textbooks this semester alone.

Linear Algebra requires a $120 access code. Cheapest used copy of my statics & dynamics book is $220 (older editions won’t work because of homework problems). Surveying, Geology, and Ethics all require books in the $100-$130 range (used), and I need a clicker as well. This will definitely be an expensive semester!

Ugh! $800 burns. I’m spending about $350, but I’m buying used and I already have my Spanish textbook. I was annoyed, though, that the most expensive book I have to buy this semester only comes in loose leaf. I mean, shouldn’t it cost less if there’s no binding?

Two of my classes require novels that I can get for no more than a couple of bucks altogether; the others require books that I can get older editions of – so I’ll probably be spending around 25-50 this semester.

DId anyone had to pay for the new calculus 8th edition stewart?

I got all my textbooks for this coming semester for free. It’s awesome if you pay lots of attention at the end of the semester – seniors who’ve never moved have a stockpile of all their books and they’re scrambling to move out. So some of them want them gone ASAP and so give them away for free. I seriously wonder what all of them do with their foreign language books though… I’ve never even seen students sell them. o.O

UGH, only a week and a half left. It’s crazy to think that it’s been a whole year since we started college. It’s also crazy to think of how fast these four months have flown. Why, summer, why?

Should I wear my Bernie 2016 shirt on my first day back?

@teenbodybuilder No, wear your Trump one.

T-4 days until I head off to the East Coast for outdoor orientation! How are you guys spending the tail end of summer?

@preamble1776

If any Hillary supports give me shit for my Trump shirt, I’ll ask them “Why does Hillary think she can satisfy America, when she can’t even satisfy her husband?”

I have a great chrome extension that puts real Donald Trump quotes between his name in any web page, so this is preamble’s post for me:

I felt like posting that result was needed.
