I had a dream the other night that I had to go back to high school for one more year. I was so mad in my dream. I woke up and was thankful it was just a dream, LOL, more like a nightmare!
I don’t know why, but I’ve been thinking about high school for the past few days. I was just thinking about how big of a deal high school teachers made everything in high school. I would get yelled at if I tried to take my lunch out of the lunchroom to a teacher’s room for tutoring. They also tried this thing where we weren’t allowed to use backpacks during the school day. One teacher actually pulled out a whistle and started blowing it when he’d see kids with backpacks. Oh, how I don’t miss the petty drama. College is so much more relaxed and has way less drama.
Practically a week until the fall semester starts. I don’t know why, but I feel a little nervous, which is weird because I know what college is like and everything. Ever since elementary school, I was always nervous for the first day.
@NewBeginnings3 - Since first grade, I have always had the same string of nightmares the month or so before school starts. Last week I began having nightmares that I missed the first day of school (like I was running so late that I just ended up missing all my classes) and my professors held a grudge against me for the rest of the semester.
You guys should’ve seen me senior year. The number of times that I dreamt that I missed my last chance at retaking the SATs is unbelievable. That and missing app deadlines =/
I’m wondering if I should sign up for a math class and be done with my math requirement. I would have 18 credits instead of 15. The math class I’m interested in is a general math class; basically, it’s for students who just want to get three credits of math out of the way. I think it’s even easier than college algebra. Hmmmmmmmmm
@NewBeginnings3 you should see if you can take an intro stats class. Stats is the most commonly used branch of math. I’m assuming you’re not a STEM major, but a stats class would allow you to better understand data/polls that appear in the news, analyze data at work, etc. There’s a lot you could do with it.
Your other class still sounds fine though. Geometry is boring but manageable, probability is interesting and also manageable, and combinatorics introduces you to graph theory( a more abstract end of math). I’d say go for it.
Bleh, I start on Monday. Luckily I only have one class but my teachers are already pouring on the assignments. But I’m excited because next semester I start some student teaching
How long does everyone else have to drop and still get a full refund?
Classes start Monday for me (24th), and you don’t get a refund unless you drop by Sunday (23rd).
There’s a 1 credit class I’m enrolled in that I’m now having second thoughts about. I don’t need it this semester, but would like to get it out of the way. Anyway, it’d be nice to try it out for a day (or even just see the syllabus!) before I decide, but I also don’t want to drop 10% of the cost of the course to see.
