One of my friends has a break from December 12 - February 2. What!?
@NewBeginnings3 Blasphemy. Smh.
I learned one thing this semester and one thing only: don’t take graduate classes outside your major unless you have masochistic proclivities.
I just got back my essay that I wrote for my English class; I got a 98%! From what I understand, a lot of people got B’s and C’s, so I’m pretty stoked about my grade.
I found out today that my one final that I would have to take on campus is actually a take-home final, so I might not actually have to go to campus at all during finals week! I may be done with the semester entirely by next Friday! Hallelujah!
All of my grades could be in the range of A to B+ based on the finals, so there isn’t a final I can put less stock in, and I have 4 finals, 3 in 2 days
I just looked to see how much a parking permit costs at the college I will be attending next year - $680 for the whole academic year. Oh my, LOL.
At my school it can be 1k per semester for overnight: 500 for day pass. So you could need as much as 2k for a full academic year overnight. Consider yourself lucky
(also not in Boston probably)
My school’s parking pass for the semester is ~350 - problem is, the school is predominantly commuters so the lots fill up by 9AM. A lot of kids end up screwed if they get there later.
My professor cancelled our final this week and is counting our highest exam grade as our final exam grade. Easy A. Feeling blessed
@preamble1776, I ran into that problem this semester. My campus offered more 8 a.m.'s this semester (two of which are freshman entry-level classes), so when I go to campus for my 9 a.m., parking is already at a premium.
Last week of classes begins tomorrow. I have one final this week and then one next week for sure. My one professor has us scheduled to take a final exam on a certain day during finals week, but she emailed us and said that we might do a “take-home” final, so I might have two finals this week. It would be really nice if I could be done with most of my stuff this week.
Just had my last night class tonight. There are only three of us in the class, so we met at a nearby restaurant and recapped the semester. It was kind of bittersweet because I enjoyed the class. I always find the end of the semester bittersweet. I’m always excited for it to be over, but I won’t have these professors that I have had for fifteen weeks ever again, which to me, is sad.
I had a presentation in my English class on Monday and turned in the last assignment, so all I have to do is listen to my peers’ presentations on Wednesday and Friday.
Got a 3.71 gpa after taking 17 units this semester.
It is fun to follow along and read how well you are all doing. Great job, you should be proud of yourselves and have a great winter break! Happy Holidays.
Finished with classes! I got a B on my science final, but I have an A in the class. I have an A in my English class, and I think an A in my curriculum class. My music and literature finals are next week. I think I’ll probably have an A in my music class; I’m thinking I might get a B in my literature class.
Now, it’s time to start getting ready for Christmas!
Officially done with the semester as of last night (turned in my last final project)! Won’t know my grades for another week probably, but kinda scared to see them. Definitely not expecting all As this time lol
I’ll be really busy over break though. I have to make it through the first 6 chapters of the German textbook (lol read: learn German cuz I can’t write it, can barely read or speak it), memorize a concerto for the concerto competition, and read a book for my voice teacher. My parents are also making me go on a diet over the holidays because all my clothes are too small again. Whoops.
Next semester’s going to be really hard. Im taking Abstract Algebra I, Dance History II, Algorithms, Intro to Music Comp, and fourth semester German (without taking the previous 3 semesters). On top of that, I have my four music ensembles (3 for credit) and three sets of private lessons (2 for credit), plus my other ECs (theater, computing project team, and math research team). I’m really looking forward to starting voice lessons though! My professor that I’m going to be working with is really nice! But yeah… not expecting much sleep next semester.
I have this week off as a reading period and two final exams next week on Tuesday. Currently studying for those two exams. I also have to bang out a 6 page essay but that shouldn’t be too bad.
As for next semester, it’s gonna be pretty standard. 5 classes - two upper division courses (one in major, one in minor), a second major course, an Honors seminar and a gen ed. I’m going to continue working as a TA and tutor (but I generally work only around 2-5 hours a week so it’s not huge.)
After 3 semesters of engineering…
I got involved in undergraduate research my first two semesters
Volunteered at a lab
Changed my major from aerospace to industrial engineering
Finished with a 3.865 cumulative gpa
Now I have a co-op in manufacturing engineering. I start January 4th, and I’m both nervous and excited about it.
Got an A in my one class that I was worried about. The whole class has been based on participation, and I did not know my grade at all the entire semester. I have A’s in four out of five of my classes; my last professor needs to post my grade! There’s always one professor who waits till the last possible minute.
I haven’t been on here in ages omg. 2015 was a rough year academically. I’m glad it’s over and I can focus on bigger and better things for 2016. J-term should be great and so should the spring semester. Also I’m internship hunting now, and I’ve applied to like 7 places already. If I apply to as many places, one of them have to accept me right? lol
How is this coming semester looking for you guys?
Principles of Mircoeconomics
Precalc ( I will be on track as I’m taking calc 1 in the summer) calc 2 in fall and calc 3 in spring 2017. Then I can finally transfer! Hopefully by 2017 I should be in a four year school!!

Fall 2016 for me will be by far the hardest thing ever for me. Let’s hope I can make it out alive.
