Hello I am new to this site. I have a rising senior and am trying to find a college consultant to help guide essays, college lists, and provide support. We are at a public school where guidance counselors literally change every year. Would anyone be willing to share a particular company or counselor they used and found helpful? Appreciate it.

CC does have people willing to review essays. Check the college essay forum.
My kids both asked their favorite HS English teacher to review their essay and that worked well. The teachers knew them and were familiar with their writing style.

I tend to think word of mouth referrals from other parents in your area is the ideal way to find someone, if possible.
I note while I agree almost all the assistance you could want is available free, still, organizing it all, separating the reliable information from the not so reliable, and so on can put a big load on the parent. So if you have the means to pay a modest amount for an experienced counselor, the kind who will really give you individualized help and not push a formula, that is a reasonable choice in my view.

If you want college consultants, the best way to find someone is by word of mouth. People you know who have worked with someone and are happy with that consulting.

Make use of the essay readers here!
In the community where my kids grew up, many parents would not share that they working with a college counselor, let alone that person’s name.
If you can network into a referral, great. If not, find member names in professional organizations like IECA, NACAC, and/or HECA…anyone you hire should be a member of a professional organization that has pre-reqs to become an independent college counselor.
If you are a limited income family, look in your area for college access orgs/programs that students can apply for or join.
