College football 2023 šŸˆ

Billy Napier is in big trouble. Trevor Entienne in the portal and they are losing a lot of commitments.

Plus, their '24 schedule is brutal. He could be fired next year.

Go Army, beat Navy! Look for me in the end zone.

Looks like the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State ran away from the Great Danes of Albany in one of the FCS semifinals.

Saban is playing chess not checkers. RTR

As a Michigan fan, I applaud Saban for trying to do whatever he can to gain a competitive advantage, but IMO, it smacks of desperation.

I sincerely doubt Harbaugh is losing any sleep over a guy he fired last season. And the news hasn’t changed betting line.

Nick Saban is anything but desperate. He took a team, who seemingly, was going to have a very bad season and is now in the playoffs. Georgia was behind most of the game a position they did not anticipate. He knows how to win. And yes, definitely plays chess…

Did they ever. Holy cats…

The way I see it.

Saban took a team with the #1, the best, talent in college football according to 24/7 and just barely beat a .500 Auburn team, and then Georgia, in the SEC championship. The SEC, which almost missed the playoff entirely, but for an injury to the FSU QB, Jordan Travis.

Seems desperate in my eyes to hire a fired, currently unemployed, football coach two weeks before the Rose Bowl. :man_shrugging:

BTW, Michigan is ranked #14 in the college football talent composite index. Saban realizes he’s likely missing that ā€œsomethingā€ this year and needs any kind of edge at the last minute. Desperate.

Lol.
Coach Saban has been doing this football thing for a long time. ā€œDesperateā€ has never been an adjective accorded him.
Now the ā€œplanning and sign stealingā€ that Michigan has been doing for the last three years IMO is what is desperate. Just sayin’

LOL. I call it ā€œadvanced scoutingā€ which all teams do or one can hire a fired Michigan coach 2 weeks before the big game to accomplish the same thing. Desperation.

One last item on this topic of ā€œsign stealing.ā€

If the NCAA or other B1G teams were actually concerned about it, then they could have easily adopted the NFL’s helmet communication technology a very long time ago, its been around since the 1990’s.

90% of the bets are on Alabama, but man… I don’t see it.

This is a good team, but not a great Alabama team. They are inconsistent.

If they bring their A game they can beat Michigan, but the Wolverines have been more consistently dominant. If Bama does not bring its A game, Michigan could roll them. They have no weaknesses. Even their kicker is good.

I think there will be a lot of punts. 17-13, Michigan.

Alabama’s kicker is pretty good too. That has not always been the case. Alabama is not the same team they were in September… so we will see who prevails.

Call it what you want, but it clearly was some sort of violation. Obviously, Michigan did not care for the fired coach so all good… and it was an above board hire… bonus points for The Tide.

During this lull, I would like to congratulate the UT volleyball team for its national championship repeat! I go to a lot of games and didn’t think this team could win back-to-back until I saw how they fought to get off the ropes against TN and then beat Stanford. I knew then that they’d win it all. Man, it helps to peak at just the right time.

Also, really excited about UT’s recruiting. Hometown fave Andrew Mukuba is coming back to the ATX. He went to the same school my kids did so I’ve been watching him his whole HS and college career. Plus, we got a 5-star Texas kid to flip his commitment from Florida. Helps to be on a win streak to keep those wins coming.

Nebraska’s VB coach was pretty salty during the post match interview talking about how Texas won because it had so many transfers.

Nebraska also blames Texas for their football downfall so not surprised. Rent free.

USC is falling apart. They lost Malachai Nelson and a bunch of the 4* and 5* players on their roster are in the portal.

Hoping Michigan picks up a QB from UCLA and a DB from USC in the transfer portal.

ETA: Oops, I just read that Dante Moore just committed to Oregon. Bummer.

Oregon convinced Moore, who was a starter this year, to sit behind Dillon Gabriel. That’s wild.

There is some wild stuff going on in the portal. Cayden Green, OU’s best and coming Freshman AA OL is in the portal and probably going to Missouri.

He was welcoming new recruits and transfer players on twitter. Then one day, OU cant find him at practice and no one knows where he is.

Next thing you know, he enters the portal, his dad wipes all their social media and no one can can access him. The rumor was he was going to Oregon and now he’s projected to go to Missouri.
