Ole Miss’ Head Coach, Lane Kiffen, is a likely target for the Penn State Head Coaching job as are the head football coaches at Indiana and at Iowa State.
The guy at IU would be crazy to leave. He’s the logical choice though. Too many leave the perfect situation and struggle. Coach Cig just got a big time job. IU will pay him. I hope he stays.

Matt Rhule played at Penn State. That’s my leading candidate.

UGA fans have long said officials were in Saban’s (now Bama’s) pocket. We’ve been on the wrong side of those calls too many times. After that game, I literally looked at my friends and said, “With those calls it is official that Bama hates Auburn more than UGA.”

ETA: Maybe we need an officiating vent thread because UGA was robbed of a touchdown too. It was just embarrassing for the SEC refs.

not sure if Rhule is the guy. He is friends with the AD, Pat Kraft, but he never wins the big ones.
Pat K doesn’t like Manny Diaz … but this might be the best option.
Lane Kiffin? say it ain’t so. He’s a southern guy, not sure how well he would play in PA.
Cignetti? (IU). being paid a lot to overperform with less resources. Not sure he would want to leave that.
AD has a tough road ahead. Massive stadium expansion underway … players demanding NIL $$$ … who is the big splash hire? (plus a $50mm buyout for Franklin).

We were at our cabin, and as luck would have it, it was one of those weekends when our cell reception was so poor we couldn’t get on the internet to follow the game. My sister texted me the score. I thought she got it wrong! Wow!

The Sooners haven’t scored a single TD in three of the past four years in this game. It’s crazy. And I love it!

I never say anything nice about Nebraska…but he’s a good coach.
Well UF and UW (Wisconsin) are terrible this season, so will be an easy year to sit out. But a tad hopeful for the NFL games (Atl is currently up… though the game is young).

Penn State would kill to get Lane Kiffen. Being Southern is a huge plus. Also, he is just 50 years old & has stopped drinking. Additionally,he is a great recruiter for offense players–especially QBs.
Nevertheless, I hope you’re right as I cannot understand why anyone would leave The South.

It’s kind of like living in Maine. You can live here for 40 years, as I have, and you’re still not a Mainer. It’s the same with the south, where I grew up.

Pretty sad where some people’s thought processes go. Is he ill, is he angry, does he think he’s funny, does he crave attention, is he power hungry, is he a sociopath/psychopath or who knows what? Things are just getting weirder in this day and age.

While you are all enjoying your Saturday football, you might want to consider watching this Utah-BYU football game if it doesn’t conflict with your favorites. Coming from a smaller state it is not as well known a rivalry as many others but it is as intense and exciting. It will be on Fox at 8pm eastern time. Could well have Big 12 Championship game implications and maybe even CFP implications down the line. At least that’s my hope.
