They better hope he doesn’t flame out in 3 years bcuz the buyout will be big.
But he reminds me of Pete Carroll. Confident and energetic.

I can’t believe how big these contracts are getting, but I did hear something about the Franklin contract I didn’t know. The payout subtracts the amount he will be paid at his next job. I may not be stating this perfectly, but let’s say that Franklin gets a broadcasting job for $10M, then that’s $10M less that PSU has to pay. I would imagine all the contracts have that clause going forward, and maybe they have and I just didn’t know.
You are correct.
His next job will pay minimum wage
Coach Prime got $30M for 5 years, and has been worth every penny for the money he’s brought to the school. The first year they had Big Noon Kickoff and ESPN Game Day 3 times.
The parking revenue alone may be approaching $30 million!
I know this season (post losing top QB and WRs) hasn’t been great but I wondered if he would be in the Penn State mix.
I don’t think so and I know he doesn’t belong but no one can bring excitement as quickly.
He’s been unhealthy - so all the money can’t fix that and I hope he gets healthy soon.

That skyline lol
No for Penn State. CU let him do whatever he wanted, hire all his NFL friends and have half of hollywood on the sidelines. Our record was so bad that it couldn’t get any worse when they hired him. First year he only won 4 games (but Nebraska, and that’s all we care about) but it was exciting, and last year more wins. This year back to losing but usually by 3 points.
He was unhealthy when he was at Jackson state and had most of a foot removed and coached from the hospital and a wheelchair. Here, more health issues and just last week had blood clots removed.
I think he’ll finish his 5 year contract and retire and concentrate on his sons who aren’t doing well.
Yes Louisville!
Four INTs!
If #5 Ole Miss and Lane Kiffen beat #8 U Georgia today, then expect Lane Kiffen to be rewarded with a new coaching contract which will make him the highest paid coach in college football.
Fortifying for the “I’m going to kill myself” nail-biting stage… I just hope we make it to the “nice we won” stage".
(borrowed from my college roomie)
If anyone is interested, James Franklin about to be on College GameDay after the commercial.
Vandy. Wow.
Brian Kelly is a jerk so double bonus.
More than Bill Belichick? (Who may be on his way out.)
ole miss had the lead for the longest time until qb turned into a pumpkin.
@Hoggirl getting a good game!
Wow, Sun Devils, nice drive for Arizona State.
Not good enough
