College major and cost

Can I apply business major as a high school student who only studies science in school?
Note: I am from indonesia and in here there are only 2 kind of classes, science and social.
I am a science student and want to study business in a canadian university yet i have no knowledge about business since I am a science student. I actually wanted to study engineering or CS but the price is too high and I can’t really afford it and I’ve been considering business major since it is cheaper. So my plan is to take business as bachelor degree then work for years and take engineering or CS as my master degree.
and so far I have only had research on University of waterloo,Queen and York.

You are unlikely to gain admission to an engineering or CS masters program with a business degree.

Each university will have the admissions requirements for each program for international students on their websites. For “business”, google the name of the university +international + admission requirements + commerce to get to the right place.

Waterloo doesn’t have commerce, like the other universities do, but they have accounting and finance (AFM). The AFM program, as one example, requires Indonesian students to have Math and English. Have you studied English? They will also likely require a TOEFL (or similar) test score.

There are other universities in Canada which might be less expensive for an international student. You can find one list of good CS programs in Canada in the Maclean’s listing: http://www.macleans.ca/education/best-computer-science-universities-in-canada-2018-ranking/. Note that two of the universities in this list (U.Montreal and U.Sherbrooke) teach in French. Ottawa is bilingual and the rest on this list teach in English.

From this list, you might want to specifically consider Simon Fraser, Victoria, Concordia, St Francis Xavier, and Dalhousie if cost is a factor.

I agree that “You are unlikely to gain admission to an engineering or CS masters program with a business degree”.
