<p>For the college of arts/science essay about a piece of art, lit, science, etc. that unsettle you, is a psychology experiement ok? psych is social science not physical science, so…it should be ok right?</p>

<p>someone told me that the admis…don’t even read your essay… some english major students read then and like give points on them or something… so i wouldn’t be too worried about that…</p>
<p>Please don’t listen to this advice. Essays are taken so seriously at UVA. Take each and every part of the application as seriously as you consider your future. If UVA is high on your list of where you want to be, have great stats, and great essays.</p>
<p>you should be fine. they’re reading your essays to learn something about you, and, most importantly i think, to see that you can compose a well written essay. i don’t think they’re taking many kids with run on sentences or typos. spend a lot of time in your essay, but don’t get worked over technicalities with regards to the topic.</p>
