College of Charleston Early Decision / Early Action for Fall 2024 Admission

Accepted OOS with 5k/yr merit scholarship but waitlisted from honors college. Anyone know my chances of being accepted after showing continued interest?

Deferred for several kids from Childs OOS IB school. Not going to apply for second round. Waiting on USC. If that is a no then it’s likely George Mason

OOS, Early Action
Decisions came out after 6 pm on December 14. No change to portal, no heads up email, no way to read the tea leaves.
Accepted with 6,000/year merit.
3.8W, 1230 SAT
Toured school in the summer, applied through “priority” using the fee waiver sent to us after the summer tour.
Very excited!

Congrats to your family and to all admitted! Our OOS daughter is in exactly the same situation. From what we have learned, there is a solid chance to gain admission to the Honors College if waitlisted, but I’m not sure what the real probabilities are
as they are probably specific to each individual in such a situation.

Best wishes and good luck to everyone!

OOS, Early Action
4.3 W, 1260 SAT but unsure if she submitted it
Private, rigorous School in NC; near the top of her class (school doesn’t rank)
Lots of ECs, work and volunteer; some sports
Started a couple of clubs in her school
Accepted into Honors College with 15,500/ year merit

Sure, here are S24 stats:

Date Applied: 10/18/2023

Desired Major/School: Business

GPA: 3.78 UW / 4.15 W
SAT/ACT: Test Optional
Number AP/DE classes taken: 4
Rank: 102/220
APs/Honors: AP Stats, AP CS, APES, AP Psych, most others Honors
Extras/Hooks: Well-rounded ECs

Admitted with $7500/yr merit

GPA 98/100, lots of rigor, test-optional, well-rounded ECs, OOS. Got $11,500 in merit, which seems like a fair amount for CoC but waitlisted for Honors, which I thought was a little curious.

Southeast US
3.75 weighted - few honors/no AP classes at mid-range private hs
No official extracurriculars, but strong interests and demonstrated passion for major
1/4 underrepresented identity
Great essays

She wasn’t even considering it until she told a teacher that she got in. He raved about how good it is, and now she is seriously considering it, it’s now her #2 behind USC. She got a $48k merit from GMU.

Since she was deferred from COC. We aren’t too optimistic that she will get EA to USC.
