College Prep Scholarship Summer 2009

1492 - Did you get anything yet? I assume that you logged in at QB to verify your package was 100% received.

for those of you applying for travel grants…

how much are you requesting?
plane tickets ~ 300 dollars?
hotel ~ 100 dollars

so 400?

i know if you’re applying for a travel grant, the parent has to be with you, but do they cover the plane tickets for the parents as well?

thanks!

lol sorry another question

what do they mean by “send in your standardized test scores?”

like actually have college board/act send it to them or fax in the score report you received? i emailed them but no reply so far.

The original application says to have the school fax your transcript and their copy of your test scores from their guidance office. My daughter did this and when she spoke to QB they said it was fine.

thank you so much! i love cc  everyone’s so friendly hehe

I forgot, there was a fax cover sheet she was supposed to print out with a bar code that identified her. She brought it to her guidance counselor to fax with the transcript and test scores.

To mkaykay:

the travel grant information is on the page you go to to RSVP.
the RSVP link should be on the page that you are directed to in your email regarding the conference.
they ask you if you’re interested in applying for a travel grant, how much you’re asking for,
and they ask you to write a short statement

I also got invited to the Stanford conference and was nominated for college visits!
Hope you see some of you there : )

ohh thank you very much! hope to see you there, too :)

Does anyone know what time these conferences start? Especially the Yale one?

^I’m pretty sure they are all day.
And I just RSVP’ed, I’ll see some of you at Stanford.

No, I did not receive anything but I sent them an email and hopefully they will reply back on Monday.

Yes, I double checked my locker and it said everything was submitted. It also had my correct email address on file so I don’t know what’s wrong. Even if I was rejected I should receive an email right?

I am also going to call on Monday during my lunch break.

I was a QB College Match applicant last year. I was named a finalist, but not matched. However, thanks to QB I received full scholarship to Swarthmore and Amherst in RD!!

I just wanted to remind everyone to take the SAT early as many of the colleges require at least two SAT subject tests. Last year, these were not given until October.

GOOD LUCK!!!

QuestBridge and QB CC’ers ROCK!!!

Let us know! Good luck.

I sent in my waitlist letter. crosses fingers

Anyone know when these all-expense college visits occur? I’m hoping it’s the fall or late summer. Ds needs to register for a summer class and already has a 10-day commitment in late July.

I’m super excited about the Stanford conference:)
Can’t wait to see everyone.

Did anyone here get one of the ten offers for the all-expense paid college summer sessions?

okay this is kinda dangerous, but whatever

is any kid from nyc (bronx, queens, manhattan, brooklyn, preferably) invited to the yale thing?

i wanna try taking the metro north train by myself; i’d love to know if anyone is planning to do the same!!!

The college visits are apt to occur most any time, although last year it seemed like most all of them were in the fall. Those programs seem to really be up to the partner schools themselves. I wouldn’t go canceling summer plans over it.

If you call QB about them right now, I can almost guarantee they will not have any more specific information yet.

If you are taking a train from NYC/metro to New Haven for the Yale conference, I can almost guarantee you will find other QB kids on that train.

I’m going to drive up to Stanford for the conference, instead of flying. is anyone else going who is from so cal?
