If I get accepted I’ll be!
Waitlisted currently.

nope taking a plane
… with my madre! hooray! but not hooray about the ridiculous amount of money going into this

^yea…which is why I’m driving :]

i’ll be going to the Stanford conference from Socal!
i’m still deciding on how i should get there

ATL => New Haven, CT => ATL = 1700 Miles = $500 <—WOW!

I have to go from central PA to Yale. I’m not sure if I’m applying for a travel grant though.

lionsrcute3- mmm i think my teacher rec was good, good grades, although low standardized test scores, essay really came from my heart, and live in the west coast? haha

I finally receive my notification letter after constantly bugging the people at Questbridge (I’m sure the lady was tired of hearing me call every couple of hours).

I did not apply for the summer program because I knew that I would not be able to do it since I already accepted a local, paid research internship sponsored by NIH.

I was nominated for a college visit and accepted to a Yale Conference. I am so happy. I was 90% sure that I was rejected. My essay sucked since I just wrote it that night it was due.

so… any opinions on airport, transportation and lodging choices for the stanford conference?

^ that’s what I would like to know, too! :)

wellll i’ve been looking around and it seems the Cardinal Hotel is nice and has reasonable rates for the area. and it’s right across the street from stanford! now i just have to figure out how to get there from oakland airport haha

^Dude imo, it’s too hard to find a taxi and all that mess…so I’m driving up there with a parent. You can go wherever you want, and it’s way cheaper.

ya driving there would be awesome except i don’t live in california haha :/

flyingllama, let us know what you find out. I was going to look for hotels that had shuttles to/from the airport, but maybe it’s too far?

I’ve been reading that we can take the Caltrain from San Jose/San Francisco airports to near Stanford and back?
I’m not sure about Oakland…

If you’re traveling to Stanford, here’s a good website to get you started: [Plan Your Visit : Stanford University](http://www.stanford.edu/dept/visitorinfo/plan/index.html)

There’s a lot of good info on that website. You can click on the public transportation link for more on trains, buses, shuttles, etc.

If you are arriving too late to catch some of the public transportation, or simply aren’t confident enough to try them, you could take a shuttle van from the airport to campus or your motel (assuming your motel doesn’t have a shuttle; it may). Here’s a link with some shuttle service info: http://www.stanford.edu/dept/rde/scs/general/pdf%20planner%20documents/PDF’s/Planningmandocs/2009%20PlanManualdocs/Transportation%20to%20Stanford%2009%20FINAL.pdf

Back in the day when my son visited Stanford, we took the Super Shuttle. I made the reservations ahead of time and was able to charge it at that time. While you can pay cash when you catch your ride, it was nice to have the payment made already-one less thing to worry about. The public transportation options would have been cheaper, but we arrived so late they weren’t running.

Yeah, I think the first link is very helpful… thank you!

hey everyone, i got admitted to fein scholars and an invite to the yale conference, unfortunately i can’t make it to yale =[
so excited though!

I applied for 200 bucks travel grant…for hotel fees. And this is a really good website,
