Bubbe, your grandson is getting the best application help available through QB. Plus, he has a grandmother who is motivated to seek out advice for him! I don’t see any benefit to adding advice from an Amherst college student, plus it would mean a loss of that opportunity for some other student who very likely doesn’t have your grandson’s resources.

Bubbe, in re-reading my previous post, it comes across sounding harsh. I apologize.

And I also apologize if I sound like I’m putting down the students in the telementoring program. I think it sounds like a terrific program and it is wonderful the students are using their experience to help others.

I got the prep scholarship but if you don’t go to the conference it doesn’t really do anything for you.

i went to the yale conference. it was ok. the two things i learned were: what a college app looks like and how to fill one out. how to write good essay and use the app to the fullest.

it’s good practice for your senior year, but it’s the match program that can really pay off

Has anyone received anything about the college visits? I know that the email said it would be summer when colleges started contacting the ones they want to invite, just thought maybe someone had heard something by now.

Has anyone received notification from Questbridge partner colleges about the summer programs or the college visit or does anyone know when the ones that are receiving either of these will be notified?

i have a question; i got nominated for the all-expenses paid college visit thing. i got WOW from williams but so far, thats the only school that has mentioned questbridge. other schools have emailed me about visiting but none of them have mentioned questbridge. did anyone get an invite from wellesley for an all-expenses paid visit? or oberlin, wesleyan, bowdoin, amherst, swarthmore, rice, etc?

Is Stanford doing the college visit thing? How I would love to attend. And when people say 25% were recipients, are they talking about the college visit thing and the conference because I heard thousands were accepted into that, so it doesn’t seem so selective…:

20%-25% were recipients of the collegeprep award, which usually included the invitation to a conference, plus nomination for college visits (usually for the fall).
so it was a very selective process

i havent posted in a while…whoo. Well, i got stuff from Williams and Amherst. I’ve yet to fill those applications out though :x. Conference is on saturday!
