got the official letter in the mail today. elon does a nice presentation. it’s like when we got our letters years ago except there is no suspense.

slithey, reserved hotel for move-in and family weekend already!! another wise person on this thread suggested it!! we are driving for move-in. thanksgiving i hadn’t thought about yet, but i guess if you can grab really cheap flights, grab them.

orangemom - best of luck to you on the ED decision - I know how awful those last few hours are!

Regarding making reservations for move-in day in August - I truly thought I was one of the most organized, plan ahead people - but I have clearly met my match! I can’t even begin to deal with that yet!

Spectrum - My D1 is a one L at Nova Southeastern (first year of law school). Your son has to sign up with the law school service…sorta like the common app. They send all their stuff there (just like the common app). He needs to start studying for and planning when he will take the LSAT and enroll EARLY. Unlike the SAT, it is not given at many locations and the locations fill up quickly. My daughter had originally intended to take it in June but didn’t realize that the location could “sell out”. She did stand by and ended up not taking it until October and then again in December. Law School admission is mostly by LSAT and GPA. Here is a link that can give you an idea of what it takes:

It’s D-Day (decision day). I have no feel either way. DS2 will be entirely deflated if it’s a no. He will get over it, but it won’t be pretty. Good thing other apps are ready to go.

(My DD posted this on my FB wall last night - yes, it’s ok for her to do this, but not vice versa! I think it’s PC to “like” it if it’s on my wall, right?)

Good luck to orangemom and son for today’s decision!

We’re currently on the five-day plan to get ready for ACT. LOL. I think this first time around is just going to be a learning experience.

orangemom: you are a brave soul…we are waiting with you…GL!!!..have my drink waiting for you on my desk here at work…(well, water anyway but a girl can dream)

LINYMOM: thank you so much for posting this; I just sent it to my whole family…don’t want to reveal much on here, but suffice it to say that D2 is experiencing this soooo much where she is; kids who are not doing well freshman year who have never been away from home…
