LINYson is going to College !!! Happy Dance! and for the $$$$ too.

And mazal tov to both of you

Congratulations. His hard work and your wise guidance to apply early paid off.

^ Thank you! I’m happy! DS kind of cracked a smile. What’s with these kids? He’s just waiting for his OTHER Florida school…

But is is SO nice to be wanted…

Congrats Linymom! I hope the he gets good news from the OTHER Florida school. The first acceptance is always very sweet.

Congrats LINYmom and LINY_S! Wonderful news! And congrats on the scholarship! Looking forward to hearing good news from the “other” FL school for your S.
Our fingers are crossed!

Did anyone notice that we are nearly at page 1000!! We should be proud.

Congratulations! Love these first acceptances in October! Way to go!

I’m happy to announce that we (finally) took our sukkah down tonight :)

Congrats to Linyson. Here’s hoping the hurricanes come thru…

Thank you! I did share the news with my parents. Just got an email back from my mom asking if that scholarship was good for every school. I WISH! (She is rooting for the 'Canes, too.)

Congrats to LINYMOM!!! Loving the safety. Loving the safety with money. Loving the safety with palm trees. Today is a good day, LINY!!

Vitrac: You forgot one. Loving the safety with direct flights from our little airport on Southwest!

Loving the relatively affordable safety with that nice scholarship too. The cost of attendance with the scholarship approximates an in state school.

Great news Linymom!

How sweet it is, Linymom!!!

Congrats to Linymom and son!

DS has been accepted to Pitt and Alabama (got the scholarship letter yesterday from Bama). DS and husband will be visiting Alabama in two weeks, fingers crossed they like it. I mailed 8 HS transcripts yesterday, I was surprised to have 2 acceptances before transcripts where sent - test scores are better then grades. He is another NMSF with not great rank.

DS has no favorite school, so I feel like we are missing “the perfect school”. I should be happy he is leaving his options open. He still has to finish the UMCP application, but has submitted 6 others. One more definite application for after Nov.1 and two maybes and then it’s on to scholarship and honors college apps. UMBC came off the list after a visit last fall and has vaulted to the top again after a rep visited his AP econ class and sold him on a public policy honors program. We re-visited and he wanted to know who planted the 100’s of trees since his last visit.

@LINYMOM congrats on the first acceptance!

@Mom24boys- let me know if you have any questions about Pitt!

awesome news, linymom! congratulations. a few local kids heard positive news back from tampa as well. nice that they let you know so fast and so early!

My cousin went to Penn undergrad and then Emory for her PhD and said Emory was every bit as welcoming as Penn had been.
