<p>For twenty years UVA was also the leading national centre of Circadian clocks research. :slight_smile: Ignacio Provencio was the discoverer of melanopsin and ipRGC cells, a third type of eye receptor cell separate from rods and cones, responsible for Circadian clock entrainment as well as the pupillary response, both of which are generally functional in blind people.</p>
