Colored Jeans/Pants - what colors do you own?

Any woman who is out shopping at ANY store lately knows that you can find jeans/pants in just about any color/hue. Want pink? There’s pale pink, ballet pink, raspberry pink, hot pink, deep rosy pink…

I like to wear casual pants to work - no trousers for me, no dress pants (well, not most of the time). No jeans. But the colored jeans/pants CAN work with a nice top or top-sweater combo.

But some of the colors. Wow. Loud. Shocking. Yikes!!! I stopped at a store yesterday to use up a store credit and was looking for an additional pair of pants to help get me to spring - wow, had to really look and be careful/realistic about what I could actually make work and not be too outrageous looking at work (granted, where I work the women will not be winning awards for “best dressed” - most of them on a daily basis wear a combination of brown-tan-grey-black head to toe with their clothing likely being not from this decade…)

So I’m wondering if you buy/wear the colored jeans/pants, what colors don your closet and perhaps which get the most wear??? For instance, my eyes visually like the mint green/spring green COLOR but I can’t see myself wearing them/putting them with other clothing colors/items.

Yesterday I bought a pair of kind of cobalt purple pants. Am wearing them today with a pair of black/white herringbone almost flats and a white/black Gap printed cotton sweater with a black tee. Looks good with my black hair.

So now I have:
Colbalt/Purple
Rosy red (not fully a deep red, more like a fresh red, but not too bright)
Pale pink for spring
Royal blue capris for spring (and likely NOT for work)

Let’s see if we can create a rainbow. :)

abasket, thanks for the inspiration. I bought the cobalt blue ones a month ago, but can’t decide if it is too early in the year to wear them.

I also bought these multi colored jeans from Ann Taylor in a 10 tall. They are fun and look amazing on, but I cannot decide if I am too old (54). [Ann Taylor - AT Denim - Modern Abstract Slim Denim Jeans](<a href=“Modern Abstract Slim Denim Jeans”>Modern Abstract Slim Denim Jeans)

I have bright pink Ralph Lauren ankle jeans (halfway between capri and ankle).

I can’t get myself to buy the minty green/turquoise color, but I might be moved toward that bright coral color. I also think it would be fun do get a black/white print.

I am confused by shoes. I see either really high spikes, or 4 inch wicker rope type sandals or ballet flats. I need something with an arch support and an wondering if some type of minimal loafer or those new driving loafers would work.

Kajon, those Ann Taylor pants look SO like what I would gravitate to! I don’t think I could do them at work, but how cute for the weekend with a plain top.

I find that I can’t do the downright flats anymore I need even just a 1/2 inch on the heel. And I’m not a heels person nor do I own any wedges currently so I’m not much help. Looking forward to sandal season though! More choices!

I dont like prints in pants generally and dont have any colored jeans ( except white), but I saw these at REI yesterday and liked the blue/green color.

I didnt measure the rise in front though, I dont want them too low.

I like these driving shoes, lots of colors!

Jeans only in white but I bought a very cute pair of red cotton (just above the ankle) pants a few weeks ago.

I’ve heard pistachio is going to be the big color this spring so I’m planning on getting a pair. I don’t need any more clothes or shoes so this will be my one new purchase - except maybe for a new bag.

Spent a few minutes saying “Wow, such cute colors!”
Spent a minute saying “I wonder how much they are? Where’s the price?”
Spent a few minutes gasping for air once I saw what the price was…OUCH! No wonder they’re so cute…

Yah, not very practical.
I only spend more than $100 on boots.
Keds or Converse is more my price range.
& you can design your own.

I already went through a crazy pants phase a few decades ago.

It was borderline okay in my twenties. I think that at age 50 the ship has long sailed.

I wear a lot of Lilly Pulitzer. So, my closet is very colorful.
royal blue
hot pink
coral
purple
a number of pattern print pants too.

Do cords count? My colored pants are straight- or boot-leg corduroys and I have a bunch of them that I love - light plum, moss green, mustard yellow, dark brown, light brown, dark raspberry. I go for the earth tones because I feel most comfortable in them and it seems that earth tones are more timeless than either pastels or brights. (I’m one who shops for the long haul, not for trends - too much effort to keep up!)

I LOVE all of my colored pants! Today I’m wearing the light plum pair with a medium plum camisole under a black cardigan and a pair of black suede clogs. Mine are all full-length, and I almost always wear them with clogs.

I can’t pull off the colored pants that seem to be style this year - the tighter-legged pastel denim ones, but I still think they’re super cute! If I could pull them off, I’d go for a coral pair or a yellow pair.

I bought 2 pairs of Michael Kors’ skinny jeans in orange and turquoise.

Love colored jeans… I have mint, turquoise, hot pink, red and indigo.

I would not normally do a print either - and I did see lots of those in the store yesterday - but the flowery print Kajon has above do scream to me! (and BTW, I have never heard the term “driving shoes”!)

Pants – deep marine blue and eggplant.

I think the “driving” shoes, is a California thing. The little bumps on the sole are supposed to grip the pedals better, but I don’t know how durable they would be if you mostly wore them out & about.

Ive been thinking about getting some though, because I like flats & ballerina skimmers don’t stay on my feet.

More stylish than my Vibram five fingers too.
;)

Boden has some cute colored jeans & they have a higher rise than some of the junior sized pants.

I am petite, so I have to be careful and not get carried away with too many different colors. I don’t want to dress like a toddler.
( well, I would love to- but I would look silly)

The Boden ad above - if you click on the different color choices you will see different examples of various shoes that can be worn with skinny colored jeans - from flats to wedges and boots!

Several years back (10 or so) the colors were all the rage. I was in my mid 40s and splurged on a pair of coral. Then decided I felt “conspicuous” (a word I use when I try something on and just don’t feel like I can pull it off). Never wore them, except on a cruise when I feel that anything goes. And I’m not a fuddy duddy…they just make me feel “conspicuous” and like I’m trying too hard. I do love the colors though!

Colors definitely go in and out. They are definitely IN again at this point! I think alot of the “look” has to do with what you pair the pant with. One pop of color on my person is plenty - so I try to keep the other parts of “me” - top, shoes - more neutral.

I was thinking about the spring jeans in a color and maybe a laced Oxford shoe. I saw an ad, maybe Gap, and thought it was a cute look. I have such a hard time finding shoe that fit my high arch, wide forefoot, narrow heel foot, that inthe summer I usually wear sandals, flipflops or a moc; I thought maybe an Oxford would be different. I might even go wild and get a pair that comes with plain and colored laces :)

abasket - based on what I have been seeing and on the different Boden colors, I am thinking that the life span of ballet flats is coming to an end. Trending toward more of a smaller profile loafer or oxford.
