I don’t think Columbia has sent out likely letters yet this year.
Dear Student Name,
I am delighted to inform you that your application to Columbia University has been carefully evaluated and that you have earned designation as a likely candidate for admission to Columbia Engineering. Furthermore, in recognition of your exceptional accomplishments, I am happy to inform you that you are also likely to be named an Egleston Scholar, a prestigious four-year academic designation for some of our most promising students.
The Committee on Admissions was deeply impressed with your scholastic and personal achievements, and we look forward to all you might add to our remarkable community. We are sending you this email – which only a small percentage of our applicants receive – in order to celebrate your successes and to begin introducing you to the many features that make a Columbia education both distinctive and transformative.
Columbia University has classrooms and a community like no other, and as an Egleston Scholar, you will have unparalleled resources to enhance your experiences here: unique access to award-winning and internationally renowned faculty and mentors; an Egleston Scholar cohort of diverse peers; and funding and other programming to guide you to research and other opportunities.
Provided our upcoming review finds that you are maintaining your current level of academic progress and good standing, you can expect to receive favorable word when decisions are released on March 31, at 7:00 p.m. (Eastern). Information will be mailed to you detailing the benefits of the Egleston Scholar community; in the meantime, we encourage you to explore more through your application status portal.
We look forward to welcoming you to a community rich in ideas and opportunities. If we can be of any help to you in the coming weeks, please do not hesitate to contact Veronica Aguilar Hornig, Director of Engineering Recruitment & Non-First Year Admissions, via email at vma2111@columbia.edu
Sincerely yours,

This was 2 years ago.
I see, thanks!
Hello y’all! I honestly kinda forgot that Columbia makes you report senior year 2nd semester course changes. Is this a big deal? Is it too late to do it now?
As does almost every college
Is accuracy a big deal? Yes
It’s never too late, but the sooner the better. You don’t want the first time they’re aware being when they receive your final transcript
If anyone is asked " Verification of non-filing from financial office " on checklist?
I wonder how did they obtain this .
possible likely letters today?
Did anyone here got a survey from Qualitrics? I dont know why but Qualitrics offered me a survey about which college I am planning to go to. I strongly thought it was from NYU so ofcource worshipped NYU. But after the whole survey it said “Qualitrics & Columbia wish you luck for your success”. Am I cooked?
I’m an international btw
someone on reddit just said they got a likely letter. anyone else get one??
Edit: It was for Columbia College
I didn’t get one but yes likelies are out.
I know only a small percentage of applicants receive likelies, and that I’m better off just hoping to be admitted in general. But I can’t help but feel a little bit sad that I didn’t get one.
Dampened my mood a bit.
looks like they come out from 5-7PM EST last year. any chance they still coming?
i did! for columbia engineering + egleston scholars
Me too! I received a Columbia College likely at 4:01 CST.
received a likely! overwhelmed w all of the good news from today
congratulations! is the likely letter also reflected on the admissions portal?
yes! along with the option to receive a free t shirt
Has any intrl student gotten a likely letter?
International and nothing yet. Maybe some other international students do though.
Also, does anyone have a rough idea on the decision release date for Columbia this year? I’m guessing the 28th but I’m not so sure.
Ivy day is March 28th and usually they release at 7 PM ET.
- Regular Decision: March 28, 2024 at 7:00pm (Eastern)
