Columbia Class of 2028 Official RD Thread

Two kids at our school got likely letters yesterday (March 7) at around 4pm by email. Large public school in small city in the Midwest. Both kids in top 3% of class with excellent credentials. Not sure how many from this school or region applied.

Does anyone know how many (what %) of admits get a likely letter?

10% of accepted students is what I’ve heard

What is Davis scholars pls if anyone knows ?

Are you able to see your financial aid checklist? Mine is blank.

So weird stuff here but: I am International and on the 7th March, Columbia suddenly downloaded most of my fin docs (CSS+Non tax filer for me) save for my parents’ foreign tax documents. There was a message that read something like please share that through idoc etc. I had already uploaded my parents’ tax returns so I emailed them and asked them if I should do it again. Got a pretty quick reply in less than 30 min (when I asked for CSS Waiver it took more than 1 week to get the reply lol) that they were able to find my documents and my file is now complete…until today when my docs and financial aid page (the one that had the list of financial aid docs and said something like packaging, received) is now gone…I am super anxious T-T

Apparently quite a few have on reddit (someone messaged that someone they know got one too from the UK…but I cannot say for sure).

same !!

I talked with a domestic parent, her son is a very likely applicant, she says her checklist option has disappeared too.

I guess they are changing / updating portal for all

I’m from India.

atleast you see blank, I cannot even access the document list option

Apparently based on thread from CO2027, the Columbia FA Office said that when and if they don’t require any more docs to prepare your FA package, your documents list disappears.

Ooo, do you know if such students got in?

No idea…unfortunately. Columbia is a reach for anyone so it is impossible to draw out any trends

true. Just to confirm again, what do you see on your financial aid portal?

When I logged in today, the docs and fin aid page was gone. I just have the home page that has a blank 2024-25 heading (top left) and a lot of text (explaining what Columbia aid constitutes of a lot of links/contacts of colleges, disclosures) Nothing has changed here

I am not able to access that ā€œDocuments and Messagesā€ anymore.

All is see is a ā€œWelcome [name], Columbia University’s educational financing options consist of federal, state, institutional and private sources of funds that will help meet the diverse needs of the student population. Columbia recognizes the importance of choices in educational financing and hopes that the options provided will be useful in planning and managing educational expenses. ā€¦ā€

okay, that’s the same for me!! The detailed info is actually the main page, and then you are supposed to click on menu then access your document list.

Yup it disappeared. On Friday they said my file was complete and that they will ask for more info if needed. And today, the docs and messages page is gone. Last year it happened with too many people for it to be significant. Altho most of them were domestic and not international (for whom aid is need aware). Did you have any missing documents prior to losing access to your list? Did they all read received and ā€œpackagingā€

Mine were all received, they even added some docs I sent through email.
