Columbia GS Fall 2024 Early/Regular Decision Thread

Has anyone gotten any interview requests?

Yes I applied for priority early action! I submitted my application on January 10th.

No!

No, no interview request for me

Hi guys! March 1st is almost here. I have been trying really hard not to think about the outcome but man is Columbia popping up everywhere!

I listened to a podcast earlier and the person they were interviewing studied at Columbia then I come home get the mail and I see this giant envelope from GS School and my stomach drops but then I find out that its just generic. Ahhhhh so I just created this account for support lol

Wishing the best of luck to all of you guys truly.

I received that a few weeks ago and my heart stopped for a second. Anyways, decisions will come out in less than 72 hours, good luck everyone!

Hi guys.
I applied for early action transfer few weeks ago and I just got an email which contained my CUID number.

Is this number sent out to every applicants? What does it mean?

I submitted all materials around 17/Feb.

When do you think I may hear results?

Thanks!

In the email you’re describing it says “This number will be required in order to register for future events, SHOULD you be admitted”. They send it to everyone after the application is completed. Also I’m not sure when you’ll get an answer back regarding acceptance but it won’t be March 1st as that’s for early action which ended Jan 15

Thanks alot! I was wondering what CUID was after all.

I was aware of the due date so I was expecting somewhere around late April.

BTW, is there a chance me thread which would estimate my chances?

I am wondering if I should apply to more colleges or not… also, is it true that financial aid application does not affect decision even for international students?

If you go to reddit there’s a bunch, there’s a subreddit called transferToTop25 as well as TransferChanceMe, there you can try to get feedback. Financial aid shouldn’t affect decisions at all. But you should always have a target school (this being Columbia GS) and a backup school where you know you have a great chance of getting in.

If you have a great story to tell and strong stats (the closer to a 4.0 GPA, the better), you stand a chance at nearly every top 25 school. Your non-traditional story can offer a unique perspective on their campuses and, hopefully, have a significant impact on other traditional students.

However, some schools are need-aware for international students. I believe this is the case for Columbia GS and Brown. Although GS claims they are not, I still think that they are need-aware for international applicants.

Thanks a lot for the precious comment!
I posted on reddit as @CookieMonster98 advised and thankfully, many are giving me good comments.
If you have time, could you please help me with chance me in the thread?
Thanks!

Does applying early action as opposed to early decision make a difference in the odds of acceptance?

Today’s the day!!! Final countdown! Having high hopes for everyone and wishing everyone the best best of luck!!!

Good luck guys!!

I have just received a request for my grades from the Director of Admissions; they mentioned that they are making a final decision. Fortunately, I have four A’s and one A- this semester after midterms.

They asked me the same question but on Tuesday!!! Do you think decisions will be posted today for sure? I’m so excited and anxious at the same time hahahaha

I am pretty sure that decisions will be posted unless you have interviews after today.
