I can’t find any Common Data Set reports for Columbia University.
A website I found claims: “In 2019, Columbia University received 2761 transfer applicants. The school accepted 168 students.” Did anyone find anything more official?

We’ll likely know on Wednesday (4/29) or by Friday what day decisions come out. Since friday is two weeks from May 15, but they usually release decisions earlier than the “by” date.
Is anyone’s mid-term report waived? or does it have a green check next to it saying received.
It’s really sad how I’m so anxious over this, but I really hope they send an email today telling us when they’ll release it! Some version of certainty right now would be amazing haha
@ale9953 mine was received 4/15 although i submitted near the end of March
Are there any brave souls out there that wanna email the admissions office to ask for the decision release date?
they will send an email when they have a date for us, just be patient.
WISHING EVERYONE THE BEST OF LUCK, especially during this crazy time. <3 <3 <3
sending love and well wishes for those who are directly impacted by COVID-19.
there is much more to come for everyone, im sure! one school is not a means to an end and im sure u all are super competitve. wishing the best for y’all, accepted or not.
remain positive. who knows? maybe luck will hit y’all!!! <3 <3 <3
Aw thanks for the burst of positivity in the forums @heyigotnoclue !! I hope everything’s going well for you too and fingers crossed for good news!
I have a green check next to ‘Curriculum/Mid-Term report’
Did you guys get the email about the time of decision release yet?
@gaoj12345 nope.
I just checked the portal and I still have access to it. So I’m assuming it’s not like an automatic shut down on at 12:00 on 4/29 and that they will close it later in the day and tell us when they are going to release decisions in the same email telling us we no longer have access to make changes. Just a guess based on what i’ve seen for other schools.
@daynamarie101 that makes sense! I hope we’ll hear back from them soon - it’d be a bummer if they push back the decision release date due to the virus
Didn’t realize this forum was here this whole time! Would have helped to have discovered it earlier haha. Regardless, good luck everyone!
I emailed columbia asking them in kind of an impolite way when decisions will be released
They basically said decisions will be released next week at least acceptances and such because it only makes sense for early acceptances and late rejections
It’s on time this year as well I’m guessing
This is exactly what they replied with:
“Dear _____,
Thank you for your interest in Columbia University!
Transfer applicants can view their admissions decisions online in mid-May. Instructions on how to do so will be posted on our website at that time.
Admissions decisions are released to transfer candidates no later than May 15, 2020.
Best wishes”
Just out of curiosity, does Columbia allow transfer students to switch majors if they attend? I applied for a major that I was previously interested in (Electrical Engineering, and I’d like to switch to Computer Engineering or Computer Science if I do attend because I took a couple more CS courses this quarter and I found them to be a lot more interesting than EE - though I still love EE and would be fine with it as my major). I can’t find a clear answer on the internet :\
It’s probably the same as in regular decision, if ur in, they dont care what major u do
I agree, if you are in, you can choose whatever you want, as long as you graduate on time. However, if you are a junior transfer, you may not be allowed to switch between CC and Columbia Engineering… and if you are 3+2, your option might be limited also.
Hey guys! I’m sure you guys are all waiting for the email; I am too! In last years thread, I saw that they gave the exact time and date of the decisions 5 days before they released it. I’m hoping it comes out May 6th.
