You should probably contact the AO directly to answer all your concerns. They will probably tell you if your CC application will be considered fairly or not or if you really are only qualified for GS admission.
HELLOOOOOOOO.
Has there been any good news for anyone yet in this thread? given columbiaās location, it may be difficult to get things flowing right now but hopefully people have gotten into some schools and are waiting for columbiaās decision.
@macaowllover Hi there - yes, I have contacted them already through the direct email that they provided me with, but my concern is that Columbia most definitely will tell you that GS is fully integrated into the university system (well, itād be strange if they said it werenāt!), more than if my CC app will be considered fairly. Iāll definitely apply to GS if I have higher chances there, but a lot of people think that it isnāt true that GS students are treated the same as CC students, so I was asking someone here who had her brother at Columbia. Thank you for your advice!
@kavan716 I will think on it for sure! Yes, GS is a good school with access to excellent resources, so Iām definitely considering it. Thank you.
@gabsPL I also applied to Barnard! I guess GS would be a good choice as well should I not get into Barnard, even though I know that both are equally prestigious and competitive. Good luck on your admissions, and thank you for letting me know about the financial aid (it really helped)!
@heyigotnoclue I still havenāt heard from ANY of the colleges that Iāve applied to! Even USC whose deadline was WAY back in February (I think I submitted mine on Jan 31) hasnāt released their decisions yet, which is crazy⦠theyāre supposedly coming out on May 31, way later than everywhere else. My anxiety is getting worse and worse over this, haha.
Yeah the inconsistency amongst schools is kinda wild. I have one school I heard back from that wants a deposit by May 15th, the majority of schools that arenāt telling me anything until middle to end of May and one that I wonāt hear back from until June 15th. Itās madness.
@teenybee 68% of GS are full time students so you could still have a tradition university experience and people on other threads are saying that GSās acceptance rate is 15-35% which, even worst case ,is higher than CCās 5% so you would definitely have a higher chance of being admitted.
@teenybee I am in California and I have heard that USC rolls by department. This means that they have until May 31st to get decisions out, but the department (so each major) will roll out who they have accepted into their respective programs on their own time. @heyigotnoclue I have been accepted into one of my safety schools (UCI)! It is really nice to have the comfort of knowing that I am going somewhere next year!
Does Columbia give out likely letters to transfer students?
@walthamtransfer Not that I have heard of, maybe go through previous yearsā threads?
Does Columbia accept pass/fail grade option for this semester? Do I have to report it if I added any pass/fail?
@teenybee - GOOOD LUCK im also applying to USC (third timeās the charm jesus)
HAS COLUMBIA RESPONDED TO ANYONE IN THE LAST FEW DAYS? i have gotten radio silence
Decisions are coming out in 30 days or less.
Someone on reddit said they got into Columbia as a transfer today. Could decisions be rolling?
@ZoomUniversity23 Hey!! Could you share the link to that?
@ZoomUniversity23 Where is this post!!?!?!?!?!
Guys I found it
itās on r/applyingtocollege type in ācolumbiaā and search by new
I heard someone also got in as a transfer to Upenn 3 weeks ago so maybe they are releasing things early
maybe that person was gs
Yes, I just looked it up and heās likely a GS student. He mentioned he graduated from HS back in 2014 and joined the marines. CC will probably release their decisions in May.
He said his not allowed to apply CC since his a non-traditional student, this is what he said on reddit āOh yea itās not columbia college. I wasnāt allowed to apply there since I was considered a non traditional student ?āāļø So I applied to GSā
