Columbia University ED Class of 2022

I also love Ken Westrick’s YouTube Videos, he definitely influenced me more to apply ED to Columbia University! I love watching Columbia University videos from both Columbia the school and current students, it’s super helpful and motivating I also love to watch people opening their acceptance letters on YouTube, absolutely inspirational! I also am taking AP instead of IB. Also random question, is anyone else getting Chinese State Farm ads here of College Confidential? Sorry off topic… One More Week!

@starry89 I try to keep my hopes low as well haha

@TomTanJoseR2022 Ken Westrick has really good content! He is like the Casey Neistat of Columbia

I was really hoping that season 4 of black mirror would be coming out before the 14th so I could get my mind off of decisions. But now I have to wait until the 29th. Rip.

@dogoogii When I first watched his videos I thought the same exact thing and then I looked in the comments and people were giving him crap for copying his style

I’ve been watching the crown to get my mind off things. So happy season 2 is almost here

ayyy! @tooambitious123 that’s awesome – what were/are your IB classes?

For all of you concerned about your scores being good enough. I think if your tests fall above the 25% acceptance range (ACT is 32 or greater and SAT is over 1400 or so) and you are in the top 5-10% of your class, you make the first cut. (And even if your numbers are less, it isn’t a disqualifier. )

After, I think they will factor in the less tangibles like ECs, leadership positions, and volunteer work. They also try to balance race and socioeconomic factors including the region you come from.

Of course, the essays are reported to be critical. I met a grad student that works in admissions for a non-ivy top tier school, and she said the essay is the most important factor.

Hmm. Much of my previous message was truncated. Trust that it had a lot of wise and inspiring words that I don’t feel like retyping.

Hi y’all! This is my first post… I just wanted to say we’re exactly one week away from getting decisions! (if the Dec. 14th date is accurate lol) The anxiety is starting to consume me…

Have any of y’all heard from other schools you applied to yet? Columbia will be the first school I hear from.

If I don’t get accepted to CU my winter break will be crappp with supplementals I’d have to work on

Do you guys know if the stats for Columbia represent superscored ACT or not? Their website gives a kinda confusing description of how they look at tests.

On anyone elses profile on CC does it say you have one more thread than you actually have? I have only 6 threads, but it says I have seven.

@notlimah_hsirrap Well they say: “If you take an exam more than once, you will be evaluated on the highest score you received in any individual section.” So I’m going to assume that if one’s highest ACT, for example, is a 30, but superscored to a 32, I would compare the superscored 32 to CU’s stats.

@designdaily123 I got into Penn State yesterday  Lol it’s honestly been so stressful watching all my friends get accpeted into other schools so I’m happy to know that even if I don’t get into Columbia I have somewhere to go

i’ve only gotten into one school so far, and it’s a SUNY with like an 80% acceptance rate :-w

@1984ad I got into a SUNY too lol. I got into Binghamton last night

Hi you guys, my mom called the admissions office and they said that the emails will go out at 7pm, next friday!

so I applied ED to Columbia but I’m actually really nervous about my chances. I am in the top 5% in my class and a Questbridge finalist but my SAT is like a 1210.

i thought you automatically got in if you were a finalist? but honestly, do not worry about it. it is all just one big pile of hoopla…just watch something on netflix wait until friday

Isn’t the 14th already pretty darn confirmed?? Or is it possible they are swamped by all the applications and are delaying it by a day due to huge numbers?
