@bagelboy How small is your school lol :))
@AcademiaSavvy there are 118 people in my graduating class– I think there’s about 400 or 500 total
@bagelboy Dangg I have around 350 in my class
Unfortunately nothing is on the DL in my high school of about 160 people, my grad class is 50. Everyone knows. Nothing is secret.
omg I’m watching the stanford thread blow up because ea got their results today and it’s so stressful
that’s gonna be us in 6 days guys!!
@1984ad I wonder why they set the time back to 7 P.M. Do they really need the extra hour? If I get accepted and if I do work study I definitely want to work in the admissions office. It seems so interesting like what provokes the need for 1 extra hour? Is it just to add suspense, are they still reviewing apps (I doubt it), or are they needing to sort financial aid?
I’m not sure if anyone else answered this but did any one else’s financial aid document tracker go away???
@bagelboy yeah mine went away
@AcademiaSavvy no idea tbh, im wondering the same
@bagelboy Mine did too
ah guys I should be using my free time to work on applications for other colleges but I just can’t bring myself to do anything until I know for sure I didn’t get into Columbia !! the wait is killing me
@AcademiaSavvy My cousin attended Brown undergrad and did his work study in the admissions office and then worked in admissions at Georgetown for some time. He told me part of the reason they do it at night is so that they don’t have a bunch of people calling them that night saying they couldn’t get on to the portal or they got rejected, etc. He said working at Georgetown, they would try to press the release dates of EA notifications as close as they could to the winter break so that no one could call them and complain and such. My cousin used to joke/complain about how potential students just assume that he has no life, and then he would say, well they’re right.
how many of you guys got interviews btw?
@stressedibstudent I got an interview– I’m from Chicago but I got assigned a current student studying abroad in Paris
@takacatboy That’s really interesting, thanks!
Ayeee this is my 100th post
@stressedibstudent i got one with a current student as well
@stressedibstudent I had an interview November 7 with an alumna who was pre-med. Seems they matched him with my stated interest. He was very engaging and encouraging. I live in the DC area.
@stressedibstudent I didn’t get an interview and I live in Atlanta which is pretty populous so I was a little worried
I live in Minneapolis (MN) and I had one (the alumna now works with our county’s public defense office) and it was very last minute.
i just want this terrible wait to be over
I just read the Stanford Thread, I am dead now… Praying I get accepted to Columbia!
