Columbia University ED Class of 2022

Love this positivity!

I think I WILL get into Columbia because of my 3 year extensive research in the development of the prefrontal cortex with a professor at Johns Hopkins, my 26 AP classes with all scores of 4 or higher (not including this years yet), my Hispanic background, my dedication to the dance arts and countless achievements, my pairing of a dance portfolio with a neuroscience interest, my assistance to co-editing the Times magazine current event blog, my class rank, GPA, and Test scores, and my several leadership positions held in my school and community.

@heywassaphello Holy crap! How does your school offer that many AP classes?! At my school, freshmen are only allowed to take AP World

Wow, I really love the positivity on this thread! I applied to Harvard SCEA and it’s such a nasty pretentious environment on there. This thread makes me wish I applied to Columbia early instead lol. Hope you guys all the best!

@Heywassuphello Are you sure you aren’t really a graduate student and on the wrong forum - LOL!!!

Well, the College Board did blatantly rip off the concept from IB.

@heywassaphello if you get rejected the rest of us might as well pack up and go home

A good friend of mine who is way more qualified than me was rejected from Stanford. I’ve officially given up all hope. Love the positivity though!!

hi friends thanks for keeping me sane for the past couple of weeks

i know we are avoiding chance me’s on here, so I made a separate post. if you guys could look at it that would be amazing!!! thanks

i’ve been trouble concentrating at all this week lol. i have like three tests this week (RIP) and an interview for another school on friday and tbh nothing would make me feel better than having the ability to cancel that interview :))

3 days and almost 3 hours to go!

What’s everyone’s second choice school and why would you want to go there?

I’m trying to soften a potential rejection by falling in love with my second choices right now. Philly isn’t quite as good as NYC, but I’d love to go to Penn because it’s less hectic (and the food is really good there too). My other second choice, UVA, would be nice because I live close to it and I could stay more involved with politics.

Mine is definitely NYU. Obviously, I really love the city and I love the fact that NYU has no real campus. Only problem is that is it is so expensive

My second is Smith. Essentially totally opposite in most ways, but it also felt great. I like Columbia more, of course

My second is Barnard lol

@mooseyellow My second choice is also very much Penn (If I went, I would dual between Wharton and CAS but Im applying to Wharton, the transfer to CAS is much easier). Im interested in business and film and media studies, so I would do management at wharton and communications at CAS. I have double legacy at Penn, which is where my parents wanted me to go, but…there’s just something about Columbia. I can’t really put it into words, but my heart is just there on Broadway and 116th.

@theboywhodied im probably with you on NYU (and the fact that its probably too expensive to attend :(( )

my schools val is doing ed should i be worried?

@ggiggles No, not at all. They are not looking for mass produced, identical people. They want snowflakes where each is unique and special.

can i like that message 100 times? @GrusMinion
