I think I WILL get into Columbia because of my 3 year extensive research in the development of the prefrontal cortex with a professor at Johns Hopkins, my 26 AP classes with all scores of 4 or higher (not including this years yet), my Hispanic background, my dedication to the dance arts and countless achievements, my pairing of a dance portfolio with a neuroscience interest, my assistance to co-editing the Times magazine current event blog, my class rank, GPA, and Test scores, and my several leadership positions held in my school and community.
Wow, I really love the positivity on this thread! I applied to Harvard SCEA and it’s such a nasty pretentious environment on there. This thread makes me wish I applied to Columbia early instead lol. Hope you guys all the best!
i’ve been trouble concentrating at all this week lol. i have like three tests this week (RIP) and an interview for another school on friday and tbh nothing would make me feel better than having the ability to cancel that interview :))
What’s everyone’s second choice school and why would you want to go there?
I’m trying to soften a potential rejection by falling in love with my second choices right now. Philly isn’t quite as good as NYC, but I’d love to go to Penn because it’s less hectic (and the food is really good there too). My other second choice, UVA, would be nice because I live close to it and I could stay more involved with politics.
@mooseyellow My second choice is also very much Penn (If I went, I would dual between Wharton and CAS but Im applying to Wharton, the transfer to CAS is much easier). Im interested in business and film and media studies, so I would do management at wharton and communications at CAS. I have double legacy at Penn, which is where my parents wanted me to go, but…there’s just something about Columbia. I can’t really put it into words, but my heart is just there on Broadway and 116th.
