@biochem0228 Ayeeee Panic!!
@GrusMinion @takacatboy Thanks so much for the advice!
@1984ad Remember my thing about turtles :))
@AcademiaSavvy of course =))
Any movies yall would watch if you get accepted, deferred, or rejected?
@linhcinders probably not lol, i’m not that much of a movie person haha
i applied for film studies so i have a ton i can recommend to you if you’d like
@linhcinders
Ahhhh my friend got into harvard and i’m so happy for her but also so much more anxious abt my results
My friend with much better stats than me got deferred from Harvard
I’m even more terrified now.
I would love that! @stressedibstudent
4 people from my school got into harvard so far that i know of. anxiety level max
@idntwnalive4ever I go to such a plain HS where everyone goes to community college or state school and hearing that 4 people got into Harvard at one school is cray cray
@idntwnalive4ever 4 people at harvard??? thats insane
SCRATCH THAT IT’S NOW FIVE
@linhcinders of course! you should definitely watch Lost in Translation, Cinema Paradiso, Blue Velvet, L’Avventura, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, And God Created Woman, 500 Days of Summer, By The Sea, and Volver. Lol a lot of these are foreign films but they all have subtitles :))
What state are you from? Thats incredible, you have a pretty good chance at Columbia then! @idntwnalive4ever Or thats what I would assume since your school seems well respected by the Ivies.
Anyone’s school uses naviance??? the scattergram indicates the admission result along with applicant’s GPA (out of 100) and SAT/ACT score. One thing that freaks me out is that people with 1550+ SAT and 100+ avg (weighted) still get rejected from all Ivies.
Yesterday, I had a friend who got deferred from Cornell CALS although he had various research experience at York College and published multiple journals about the enviornmental science… I really want to unearth how these admission process is going :\
@kimchimaster I don’t have Naviance, but we use parchment (which chances you at various schools based on past applicants). I have a 1550+ SAT score and 4.0 and it still gave me a 24% of getting in ED, which is only slightly better than the standard ED admit rate.
No one from my school has gotten into an Ivy yet (only one kid applied to Stanford, waiting on a few Penns and a Yale). Normally we only have 1-2 people go to an Ivy though so idk. I don’t even know when the last time someone from my school got into Harvard was :))
and now it’s seven. shoot me.
@TomTanJoseR2022 I go to a private school in New England. We do send a lot of kids to ivies but those who do get in mostly deserve it whether academically or athletically, and I don’t really know if that helps because everyone applying to Columbia from my school have really good stats
