Columbia University Science Honors Program ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

Can you still do this program if you are in Science Olympiad because all SCIOLY Competitions are on Saturdays like the Honors Program.

Can you still do SciOly if u do the honors program

@MathZany194 pretty high chances of getting in

@studentlit you can miss up to four shp classes per semester (8 per year)

Uh guys so i have a question… I’m taking the exam on the 21st and I’m a freshman. I’ve gotten A+'s in science (bio, chem), A+ in precalc, but I’m REALLY BAD at math competition stuff like I did the AMC8 in middle school and i’d get like 12 of them right… anyone wanna be brutally honest and tell me how I’m going to do? I also never learned physics or earth science… I’m pretty confident i can ace the basic math, or any chem or bio questions asked. I may be able to answer basic vector questions too, but I’m really nervous.

Hey are you allowed to bring a calculator or no?

Also, how many questions are there?

no

I’m taking the test this Saturday the 21st and have no idea how to study. I have taken Living Environment which is kind of like Biology and this year I’m taking Chemistry and I’m currently a sophomore. Any suggestions on what I should do before this Saturday and what I should study for really hard?

For people who took the test, what did you think?

The first math section was easy (I’m pretty sure that I got a 50/50), the science section was not too bad (I think I got a 70-72/75), the last math section was not too bad, but easily the hardest part (~13/15).

In honesty I would estimate about…

easy math: 48ish/50
science: 65/75
challenge:15/15

Does it sound like I have a chance or is my science too low?

@stressedbutblessed @emmm16 What answers do you remember for the challenge part? I know the hexagon one was 4 rad3, there was one that was -b/a, and a few others

@stressedbutblessed I heard the most important part is the challenge part, so if you got a 15 on that, you’ll probably get in

@Fibbonachi10 I can only hope  I remember getting 1.2, 2 for the squares thing, and 17. But I got -b/c for that one I think? Isn’t -b/a the formula for the sum of the solutions while it wanted the reciprocal, then for the reciprocals to summed? I’m not too sure though

@Fibbonachi10 @stressedblessed did you get 3/4 for the probability one?

OOF that test was bad for me I probs got 7/9 of the challenge questions I answered. RIP Press F

@stressedbutblessed You’re right, I meant -b/c, sorry about that

What are the chances I could get in? Note: I am currently a freshman.
Math: 50/50
Science: 50/75
Challenge: 9/15

when will the results be out? June?
