Columbia University Science Honors Program ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

@anna789college there wasnt any number theory either, just hardcore algebra.

I guess it depends which amc we are talking about
That test was literally 80% amc10
Definitely not 12, too easy

I asked a senior who’s been in this program and he told me that if u get 10+ challenge problems correct, you’re “basically guaranteed” a spot (his words).

Lets hope for the best  !!

I got 8 done, pretty sure all correct
Considering three is a huge curve I have my fingers crossed for the next 2 months

I got twelve done, but messed up an easy one and definitely got another one wrong.

Sadly u lose points if you mark something wrong instead of leaving it blank. :disappointed:

The only reason why I left most of chem blank
I know nothing, just bio and some physics

@anna789college same im a freshman, but reading this thread helped me know what to study.

I planned to study
But then my crazy pAP history teacher assigns a huge “break project” and I have a graphic novel for my art majors to finish
Studying went down in the wait list?

@anna789college I must have remembered wrong, but I got something that ends with an 88.

I got:
49-50/50 Easy Math
70-74/75 Science
12/15 Hard Math

I’m a freshman. What are my chances?

IK I’m prepared to get a rejection letter lol

@CSHP2022 70-74/75 on science? jesus christ
ur definitely getting in with those

also 488 was the painted cube answer?
if so then i got it, i almost put 600 because i thought surface area

No it should be 488 I think
It like 8 3 sided
96 2 sided
384 1 sided
Add it up you get 488
That’s direct method
Or just 10^3-8^3
Easy

also, you can think of how many cubes are NOT painted. 8 x 8 x 8 inner cubes are not painted which equals 512 cubes. Therefore, 1000 – 512 = 488 cubes that have some paint

what was that question with r? if anyone remembers…

legit guessed on that one, 600 didn’t seem right
it was the one where 1000 unit cubes were made into a bigger cube (10x10x10) and the outside was completely painted how many were painted
