Columbia is really selective with transfer students with any GPA. I don’t think there is a cut-off, but the chances for a slightly lower GPA is lower.
However, it’s Columbia, so, who knows? Hope you can get in!
Another issue with Columbia must be the ability to get through the core curriculum as a transfer student. I assume the school looks closely at credits being transferred and intended major. The core is a lot of classes to take on top of the major requirements so there is not much wiggle room for transfers.
Hey! Anyone get an email stating that the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC) has processed their NYS Student Aid Payment Application for Columbia? I just got an email today which makes me think that Columbia’s financial aid office requested more aid info from the state. Maybe financial aid and admissions are separate though and it doesn’t mean anything. Let me know!

I emailed to ask if decisions would be released before my May 9th deposit deadline for another school, and they told me decisions would be released early May, but they cannot guarantee by May 9th… I think they have to say that, so hopefully we hear back next week!
From Columbia Office of Undergrad Admissions:
“All transfer applicants will be notified when the decisions will be released. We cannot guarantee that it’ll be released by May 9, but decisions will be available early May (and no later than May 15)”
So now we wait to get an email notifying us of when decisions will be released!

Yup, first wave of decisions was released at about 6:00 P.M. EST.
My bet is on May 3rd.

@taylor99 Same actually. Maybe it’s standard procedure given that they’re releasing decisions this Friday. I doubt it means anything

@taylor99 Their website says early may and last year’s decision came out the first Friday of the month (May 4th) so it’s possible they’ll release this Friday
When I emailed them last week, they told me they would email out a date that decisions would be announced, i.e., we will all receive an email saying something like “decisions will be available to view mm/dd at 5pm”.
In the last few years Columbia has came out with its decisions during the first week of May so we can only hope it comes out this week
