I never click on a youtube link when there’s no context or explanation. Just sayin’.
@blueskies2day Loved it! What a classic.
Buyer’s remorse. Road not taken. So many people have felt like you, so many people will. Most people view binding ED situations these ways: (1) Right after decisions, wahoo, fist pumps galore, then (2) This lack of admissions stress is fantastic, then (3) Hmm, it would have been nice to have choices, and then (4) I wonder if I made the right choice after all… You asked for advice. So…
Your feelings are all too human. Everyone makes choices and then later has doubts. It’s okay. At some point, and sooner is better, it will be time to focus on the road you are on. Take time to find things you will like, can enjoy, can get excited about. Rediscover what your gut told you made Dartmouth attractive (again, at this point, it’s not about ED for you and choices, it’s about how you move forward). There are plenty of reasons to like it, to love it. Hopefully, you will fall in love again. And you will laugh about the regret (as so many also do). I have no advice for things if they don’t work out, because let’s be honest, right now, there’s no rational reason to assume so. This is about your emotions, and feelings. It’s okay. Don’t fixate on them, and let them go when you’re ready (again, sooner is better).
OP, google Shonda Rhimes Dartmouth commencement speech and watch it. Then bloom where you are planted. You are going to be fine. You don’t even know all the awesome things you are going to learn yet. Some of them will resonate with you and some of them will not. And this would happen at Harvard as well.
Dartmouth and Harvard grads often arrive at similar destinations:

OP, I’m gonna bet that you will fall in love with Dartmouth & Hanover. Be sure to go on Trips. Be open to the Greek system. It’s open to you – whether or not you decide to rush, and you have plenty of time to make that decision.
If you weren’t accepted ED at Dartmouth and were denied from Harvard and likes then you would have something worthy of being depressed. Right now, you are one of the few lucky dudes out of 4 million high school graduates getting in an Ivy and you need to let that reality sink in. Be proud and be happy. You don’t even have to take loans or bankrupt your parents for this opportunity. Get over self pity and go rock Dartmouth.
@merc81 that is really funny!
OP, you will be fine. You will enjoy it. Dartmouth is plenty prestigious, and I’m momdad are proud.
