Applying as an Economics Major, with possibility of a Computer Science Minor. Thoughts?

I don’t know what colleges you’re applying to, but admissions to US colleges is highly competitive for international applicants. What do you mean by ‘commerce stream’? If you started a business, it’s a great EC. Whether or not it helps with admissions would depend on the school and the details of the business. I think a very successful business that you started on your own will be viewed differently than a business venture underwritten by your parents.
Where are you applying? If you need financial aid admissions will be more competitive than if you don’t.
It’s not a specific advantage. All streams are considered equally. What matters is getting high grades in English, Economics, Maths. Science subject test takers from India are a dime a dozen, for that CS minor you’d need experience (internship, app…) and/or an AP CS test (A or principles).
