Is it bad If i put on the common app that I have had free assistance in my application process?

Why would you want to mention it? What purpose?

There is a question on the common app that asks you that. I just wanted to know is it bad if I say yes to it?

Gosh, I wonder what the college would do with that information. I mean, if a kid attends a public high school, wouldn’t even a guidance counselor’s advice be considered “free assistance.” Or what if a community-based adviser gave you bum advice – free, but poor advice? While I have no insight, I think you’re asking a really great question. Hope some people experienced with this chime in.

If your free assistance was from one of the organizations whose goal is to assist low income or at risk youth you should definitely answer that question.

Ok thanks so much!
