My kids had a ~30 mile commute to/from middle and HS. There was a bus, and then a carpool or arrive each other and then themselves. Depending on traffic it could take an hour. It’s quite doable. The funny thing is, when they went to college one of the things they loved was how close by their friends were! That wasn’t true in HS. Friends were scattered around the metro area. But they managed. Thanks for all the insights! Yes my son is able to study in the vehicle (he’s already doing so in his 20 minute commutes these days and hour long weekend trips - our vehicle acts as a lounge area when we get stuck in traffic - he turns the passenger seat way back and sleeps - i know i know, unsafe! ). At this point, nothing much else to do but to do it!
