Computer Science Major - at Virginia Tech, and for fun, Yale, Stanford, or even MIT ?

I’m a sophomore student, planning for next year curriculum.

This is what I planned: AP Physics, AP Computer Science, AP English, Pre-cal or AP Cal, Economics (required), AP World or AP Psych and one more elective.

What should I choose for my remaining elective? I can’t take a language because I transfered recently from another country and already missed my high school adv. diploma.

What fun intersting electives does your HS have?

Nothing that really interests me. I think I will take an engineering class

Don’t stress over college. You’re a sophmore. Go hang out with friends…just don’t blow anything up!

Doesn’t’ sound to me like you’re stressed, just looking for advice.

First, I’d recommend that you scan the suggested course lists at the colleges you are interested in. For example, Stanford suggests “3 or more years” of the same foreign language. Emphasis on the phrase “or more”. This might give you some direction.

You could also look for an elective that is adjacent to your area on interest. For interest, my son took digital photography in his senior year and applied some filtering applications that he developed on the side.

Good luck.
