fellow students,
I am looking for an advice on computer science. I am a kind of digital immigrants when it comes to computer. I do not have computer related experience, and all I studied was Health Science in Africa. Upon moving here, I did my own researches and found the people who have becoming millionaire and billionaire in a blink of eye are computer science undergraduates or dropped out. Another reason is that in the future, I feel computer technologies will obsolete or takeover most human jobs.
My typing is terrible too. In addition, English is my second language. does computer science is difficult particularly for some like? does it need English? what other program you may suggest?
thanks for your time,
A lot of software engineers have English as their second language. Also, at least where I work (in the US) most of the software engineers (more than 90%) were born outside of the US. However, English is the only language that we all have in common.
If you don’t have exposure to computer science, the best way to quickly “guess” at whether you will be any good at it is: Are you good at math? If you are very good at math then with sufficient training you can probably pick up computer science.
Pretty nearly no one in any field becomes a millionaire in the blink of an eye. At best it takes a lot of work and dedication over a long period of time, usually decades.
