I don’t really get the PSAT grading scale, so what kind of an ACT score (comparatively), do I need to get those benefits.

You will have to take the PSAT when it’s offered this fall at your HS. (Hopefully it’s offered at your HS.) Here are the projected state cutoffs for 2026 (so they may increase for you in 2027):

I was hoping to create a thread that describes the schools that offer Big Merit for NMF/NMSF status. In particular what is the vibe of each school? What strong programs does each school offer? Other standout features of each school? Particular amenities? Possible downsides? Also, what schools are “overlaps” with each school? ETA: By “overlap” I include schools that may be better known/more rejective, and the NMF/NMSF school can act as an admission and financial safety (or may be your first choice.)

They are telling me I’ll still get into a top school with their plan.

Read my post above about your math issue, it will be difficult to go to a ‘top’ engineering school if you can’t take more math rigor in both 11th and 12th.
