According to MIT’s website, the minimum requirement for TOFEL iBT is 90 and 100+ is recommended, but then again they looks at other stats as well, and not just the scores. Furthermore, I know my SAT scores are way too low for MIT, but my passion for going there isn’t.
All I want to ask is that since I have taken the SAT thrice making a super score of 1690, and TOFEL iBT (86/120). Would it be wise for me to send my SAT scores or TOFEL scores to MIT?
And as far as grades are concerned, I received these grades from my high school:
Senior Year Grades (Mid-Year)
Calculus: A
Physics: A
Economics: A
English: A-
Arabic: A
PE: A
So the GPA for the semester would be 3.93/4.00.
Apart from these things, I have many other things as well, which I have already reported in my other posts. I am only mentioning SAT/TOFEL and GPA because there seems to be a strong relationships between those two, according to collegeapps.
Also, I am applying to Stevens Institute of Technology for Engineering program with these stats. Could anyone of you chance me?
Thanks in advance!
With a 1690 SAT score, you’re not competitive for MIT. Take a gap year and work on your test preparation while working or volunteering somewhere.
Your SAT is far…below MIT average
Do you need aid?
I need you guys to chance me for Stevens Institute of Technology.
I know that from previous post.
I don’t think I applied to it, but I sure do need it.
What??? if you need need based aid why didn’t you apply?
Because I thought doing so would increase my chance greatly. Anyhow can you please chance me for Stevens Institute of Technology?
Of course not applying for financial aid helps in getting into colleges (not MIT with a score below 2000 though), but once you’re admitted and they ask for a proof of finance, what will you do?
Stevens is a reach but possible.
I’ll leave that up to my parents. @MYOS1634
Tell me more about Stevens!
You’re seriously saying that you don’t care what your parents are going to do ?
Stevens is a good STEM/Business school near NYC, thus very expensive and with good co-ops/internships.
Hey, man. I talked to them about it already. They said they are ready to pay whatever the net price is if it’s for MIT. I don’t want to sound rude, but I never said “I don’t care,” so don’t make those assumptions. However, I completely stand by what you’ve said. If I were you, I would have said the same thing. Hope you understand. Thanks @MYOS1634
