Does anyone know how long it will take for the award to come back after I send them my records?
This seems like a great award! Who does the advisor have to be?
You should register right away because you can’t count any of the hours that you’re volunteering (or doing for the other 3 program areas) until you’re registered (simple online process & a small fee). A mentor doesn’t have to be a teacher. It could be a guidance counselor (or they might be able to recommend an advisor) or even a family friend or an aunt or uncle (it just can’t be your parents, although of course a parent can help you to understand the program and give you suggestions). Depending on the level you’re applying for, anywhere from 4-8 weeks. Hopefully you’ve heard back from them by now. If so, let us know how it went!
